Well this wasn't the type of movie I was expecting this year.

When I think of Spider-Man, I would've never thought of him being together with different sorts of people from other universes. The more I think about it though, there is probably some comic in the thousands of issues out there that talk about this exact scenario, but it's still odd to think about. And also, highly intriguing. I was always fascinated with the idea that we could have alternate versions of ourselves, and the trailer for this movie was to put in the simplest of terms- so cool!

But, being the cautious person I am, I wasn't sure that an animated Spiderman movie would bode well with audiences at this time or if it would hold up to be successful like the live action Spiderman related films that recently appeared like 'Spiderman: Homecoming' or 'Avengers: Infinity War.'

I went into this movie feeling excited for it but also doing my best to not let my excitement get the better of my judgement. So, I have to ask you if you think this movie gave me a new, awesome Spiderman origin story to follow or did it just trap me in its web of lies?

The plot for 'Spiderman: Into the Spider Verse' is as follows: The audience follows Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), a teenage boy from Brooklyn who is bit by a radioactive spider and discovers that he is one of many Spider heroes from multiple universes. Morales is introduced to these unique individuals, but they have to work together to stop a force that plans to destroy all of their worlds.

One of my concerns going into this film is that it would be too much. I saw the trailer beforehand, so I knew of how many characters would be introduced and it worried me that there wouldn't be enough time to explain them all. But the film provides clever ways to compensate for this. There is a clear hierarchy of importance with the characters we are introduced to, with Morales being at the top and as the movie goes on we're witnessed to new people who decrease in importance. This doesn't mean that the movie did bad in showing their new characters; in fact, this makes things better.

With that many people, if they were all shoved in with equal development it would crowd your brain and make it hard to focus on the story. So, what was needed to be said was said, and I was satisfied with that. For the characters that weren't touched upon as much, there wasn't really a reason not to change that. A sequel would be nice, but if I never saw those characters again then I wouldn't feel like I was missing anything. After all, the story was about Morales- who by the way is my favorite character.

I don't think it's often for me to like the star of a movie, but with Morales I knew I would like him once he came on screen. I had one of those moments that many children probably have where you look at the screen and think to yourself, "That is me. I am being represented." Granted, I am not a teenage boy living in Brooklyn, but certain elements reminded me of myself and home.

His character was so diverse from his cultural background to his personality. He sometimes has trouble showing emotion, but he's not dark and brooding. He has some good friends, but he's not the best with the ladies. Morales just reminds me of someone who I could just hang out with, and is not a stereotype, which elevates this movie to a whole different level.

His arc was well put together too, although sometimes really hard to watch because I felt his pain as he tried to live up to be a new Spiderman in his universe. I could sense how I would react in those situations, and it made it all the more real for me. So once the audience notices Morales started to understand his powers, it makes things all the more fulfilling because there was a lot of effort put into getting to that point.

The other spider heroes were well done too, and I've grown to like each of them by the end of the movie. They're all distinct from one another, but the story somehow makes them connected in their origin story which is a running gag in the movie that I found to be funny. A couple of spider heroes came off as really wacky, but thankfully the movie doesn't focus so much on that and as a result I was able to like them more than what I was expecting. The comic reliefs were great when needed, and certainly plays on the different types of spider heroes we've gotten over the years, but I'm glad the writers knew it was better to let the main story take its course without too much interference from side or minor characters (wherever you'd put them, if you saw the film).

The villain of the movie was a typical villain in appearance but their background showed that they too had a heart in need of mending, even though the way they go about it isn't the best. It's also someone that some people have seen in the Spiderman universe already if you're a big fan of the series, so it's no one new. Still, there are a couple of plot twists are thrown in here and there throughout the story that make sense, so they're not just thrown in for dramatic effect.

The animation was my biggest concern going into this because I wasn't used to it. I knew it was going for this comic book style, but I feared it would make the characters look more stiff in their movement or a little too cartoony to take seriously- if that makes sense. However, the film plays on the animation excellently, even blatantly including comic book panels at times to direct the plot forward as well as present how the series of events would be addressed.

My favorite play on the comic book designs was how they would write up the sound effects made in the background like "Bam" or "Chirp" or how a character would think aloud and the thought bubbles would pop up behind them. It made me feel like a kid again reading comic books in my bedroom, even though that barely happened! It just gave me this warm feeling of joy.

The soundtrack was also crazy good! A lot of the music felt reminiscent of Brooklyn too, that urban hip-hop beat. It helped me connect with the New York that was presented on screen. For those that never been to New York, particularly Brooklyn, the way that it was presented in this movie gives you a good idea of what it's like- the good and bad of it all. Also, be on the look out for some funny easter eggs when they are in New York, because they show Times Square a number of times and every time there was something new to catch.

I feel like this review was much shorter than my other ones, but I can't recall anything else that I could say about this movie. If you look in the spoiler section I mention a few things I'm not particularly fond of, but they don't overshadow how fun this was to watch. If I had to say a few complaints, I'd comment on how at times scenes that weren't involving fighting went by really quickly and some transitions felt too choppy.

I would also recommend taking precautions if you or anyone you know is prone to seizures before watching this movie as the introduction and ending has long durations of flashing and vibrant colors and the final battle scene has a ton of bright, flashing colors as well.

I don't think this is a movie that should be connected to the big Marvel universe that we are following with Tom Holland's Spiderman, but it's a great movie to share with the whole family. I would watch it again if someone asked me to do so, and buy it for DvD if there were kids roaming around my house- which there aren't. The protagonist is very likable as are the other characters, the music and animation felt innovative, and it looks like it's a great shape for a possible sequel.

I give 'Spiderman: Into the Spider Verse' a 5 out of 5 stars.

One expectation I have for this movie is that I want them to address Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy's relationship in his universe. I feel like it's not something that you can just brush aside. Gwen freaking died in his universe! If they don't mention that somehow I'll be upset.

The introduction is really cool, but gosh did it fly so fast with those colors. I don't know if people who are prone to seizures should see this movie.

Did I see that correctly or was Mary Jane the one upside down in the famous kissing scene? Why in the world would she be tied upside down in an alley way? The only one who could do that is Spiderman, so did he purposely put her in that position so they could have a cool kiss scene?

Miles has a Latin mom? I know his last name was Morales, but I didn't expect them to add a Latina speaking Spanish in the movie. It reminds me of my own mom how she went back in forth with English and Spanish, and in that moment I felt how many other children must have felt where they feel like the character on screen. It was a warm moment for me.

Oof, that transition where Miles is cut off while saying "In a minute" felt really choppy...

That was an awesome moment where Miles passed by his friends and you hear different languages being spoken. It feels like my own town.

Uncle Aaron, eh? If anyone's going to die in Miles' universe, it has to be the uncle. The uncles always die...

I love the tiny jokes the kids are cracking right after Miles was forced to say I love you to his dad. Very reminiscent of real life and how people are jerks.

Having your shoe untied is a trend actually. I know of someone who does that.

Miles was late again to class? Isn't this his first day?

So, is it going to be a thing where Gwen exists in Miles' universe but she also exists in another universe and Miles bonds so much with Spider Gwen that he goes on to date his Gwen?

This "Hey" exchange between Miles and Uncle Aaron feels awkward to me, but I guess that what makes it funny because everyone else was cracking up. I laughed too, but it was more to follow the crowd.

Funny moment where Miles just kills the spider nonchalantly. That would be me.

Why IS that girl so tall? (Pfft, I should talk. People talked about my height a lot growing up)

Miles freaking out is seriously a great representation of anxiety. Is this the consequences of being Spiderman (or woman)? Established anxiety?

Damn, King Pen, those shoulders are thick!

Why is Peter Parker blond? There is not one version of Peter that I've seen that has him with that blond of hair.

*Sees Peter Parker killed by King Pen* ....He's fine.

Guess Miles' dad feels like crap now that their Spider man is dead.

Stan Lee cameo! Ugh, seeing cameos of him after his death makes it more powerful.

You wonder, huh...superheroes have to save the world all the time, and one day, they will die like the rest of us. It makes you think, they are (sometimes) human too and we won't have them forever, so we should cherish them for as long as we have them. Gosh, is this foreshadowing for 'Avengers: Endgame?'

I'd probably be that person to say, "I don't think he was talking about you personally. It's more like a metaphor."

When Miles ran back down the staircase, I thought back to the movie Venom where Venom mocks Eddie for not jumping off the building.

Did you see Peter B. smash the glass in his origin story montage? He's Jewish!

I made sure to look around Times Square to find some references and here are a few I saw. They had a billboard ad of Stephen Curry, a parody of Shaun of the Dead titled something like From Death till Shaun and Bridesmaids was replaced with Baby Showers.

That's New York for you. People could drop from the sky and people wouldn't give a damn about it.

You see, I thought Peter B. Parker was the original Peter Parker from what I interpreted in the trailer.

Even though Peter B. is supposed to be the lower rate version of Peter Parker, I personally think he looks better. I think it's the stubble that gets me.

I had a feeling Miles would've gotten the power of a bigger memory since Peter B. memorized a code.

I really like that science lady's character design. It's different. Also, is she crushing on Peter B.?

Nope, she's not. She's Dr. Oct. That's so cool!

I thought Miles and Peter B. were going to smack right against a tree as they were swinging together.

Okay, so Gwen's universe has her feeling guilty over her Peter's death. But hold up, you mean to tell me that 16 year old Peter was that ripped? Maybe even younger than that, because if you remember by the end of the movie Gwen says she's older than Miles by 15 months, but not before saying that he was 15- meaning that she is 16. No 16 year old could be that ripped! Well...

Aunt May is so cool in this universe!

Nicholas Cage is the noir Spider man? Guess this makes up for him not being Superman.

Why do I get the feeling that I'm not going to like the spider pig?

That line from Noir Spider man about, "I light a match to try and feel something" is amazing.

Spider Gwen is a ballet dancer? I didn't catch that in her origin story. I thought she was in a band.

The other spider heroes pressuring Miles to get up made me really anxious and left a bad taste in my mouth. Again, a resemblance of anxiety with all of these voices yelling at you and you don't have the strength to get back up because of it.

Why are these spider heroes such jerks? Yes, the talking behind Miles' back was meant as a joke, but it just made me annoyed with them. I've truly enjoyed Miles and if anyone hurts him, I will hurt them.

Uncle Aaron is the henchman! Why else would he visit the apartment? Also, I would've found it funny if he just sat and watched tv in his costume.

I thought Dr. Oct was going to kidnap Aunt May, to which I would've reacted like, "Oh come on! Again?!"

That photo of Peter Parker on the wall in his suit and glasses is so adorable.

Why was the villain's words translated but not the mother's if they both speak Spanish? *gasp* Did they do that because it was only AFTER Miles got bit that the comic book affects started happening? If so, nice choice.

Uncle Aaron is not going go so far as to try and kill Miles. There's no way. Oh good, I was right-oh no! Well, I did say all uncles die in Spiderman films...

Uncle Aaron's final words weren't all impactful to me, but then again, when you're dying all of a sudden it's hard to conjure up this excellent speech before your last breath.

Now the father is going to try to kill Miles? This just doesn't end...

I wish there was more interaction with Miles' roommate, like how Ned was to Peter in Spiderman: Homecoming.

I hate the feeling of being ostracized by other people because you're different, which is why this whole "You're not ready, Miles" arc isn't as pleasing to watch as I think it should be. I get it, and I also get why I feel this way.

It's nice to see a big police officer like Miles' dad get emotional for the audience. Crying isn't weak, folks!

Couldn't Miles just grab one of the Spider man suits that look most like what he wants? No, because we need him to ruin a suit with spray paint to show that he's an individual. I'm reaching, I know.

I was never a fan of Mary Jane (at least the Kristen Dunst's version) but they made her likable in this one. I know, she got like two scenes of her talking, but...maybe that's what was needed? I'm sorry Mary Jane fans!

The back and forth about the "bread" was hilarious.

The other Spider heroes are going to need Miles when they're all glitching like that. I bet that will be what saves them.

I didn't catch what Peter B. said the first time when he reunited with Miles, but I managed to figure it out and he said, "Wait, do I want kids?" and that made me a tiny bit upset. I'm not the biggest fan of story arcs that involve someone who doesn't want kids learning that he actually does want kids, because I feel like it's telling people who don't want kids that, "You just don't want any because you're insecure about yourself, you don't think you can do it, and once you get this experience then you'll come around." There are people that will never want to be a parent and that doesn't make them damaged or a bad person for thinking that way, so Peter B. could have still had his issue with his Mary Jane but without the, "she wanted kids, I didn't" part.

Was it necessary for Penny's robot to die during this fight? We don't get as much time with her along with Noir Spiderman and Spider Pig, so this death feels lackluster.

*Sees Spider Gwen and Miles talking before she returns to her universe* ...Oh, just kiss why don't cha?

Is it wrong for me to think that the position Miles and Peter B. were in was romantic? NOT BETWEEN THEM! Hear me out, the way Miles literally held Peter B. over the edge to save him (and also prove a point) but I just pictured this intense rescue scene between two lovers and it was really cute to imagine. Maybe I'll draw it.

I just love how Peter B. was dead set on dying to save the universe, but Miles just flips his own words on him and Peter B. is like, "Yup, you're good." Like, no! If my math teacher said I was going to fail a test because I didn't study, and I respond like, "I just need to take a leap of faith" he won't be like, "You're right, you'll do fine by yourself." I'll still fail...I'm reaching again.

What was the point of King Pen seeing his wife and son in the train? They were holograms (or whatever you call it) but he treated them like they were real. Why? They're clearly not there. My mother commented on that scene though saying that he thought his family was re-forming into existence again, which got me thinking that the point of that scene was to reveal that even if King Pen's family returned, it would just revert back to the last time he knew them which is where he was discovered attacking Spiderman.

That face Miles made when he was hugging his dad when the eyes of his mask got all small was adorable.

So Peter Parker is really dead in this universe? That sucks.

Was that Gwen contacting Miles at the end? That was an ending that knows it wants a sequel.

I stayed for the first after-credits scene with the Stan Lee dedication which was lovely, but I left before the other one and that was a big mistake...It was amazing. If you missed it too, it's on Youtube.

No.

Gracias a Dios, mis suposiciones no eran correctas.

Me encanta Wade y Vanessa's chemistry.

No van a matar a Vanessa.

Little Orphan Annie comiendo cereal?

No puedo recordar.

Stan Lee cameo mural!

Me pregunto si ella lloró silenciosamente.

Maldita sea, esta besando escena con Take On Me en el fondo realmente es emocional. No puedo llorar a Deadpool película...

Deadpool 2 (2018)

After the heartbreak endured in "Avengers: Infinity War," the next course of action on my list of what to watch next was, "Deadpool 2" because everyone knows that this character will make you have a good time.

Even the most basic of Marvel fans have heard about how awesome Deadpool (also known as Wade Winston Wilson) can be. I think the first time I really knew who this smart mouth mercenary was when I was in high school and I got the password to one of my brother's friends Netflix account, so I watched a couple of Marvel animated movies- one of them being Hulk Vs. (2009).

For the few minutes that Deadpool appeared in that film, I fell in love with him. Though his background is certainly one of the most harrowing, it's also handled carefully with the right amount of comedy and sincerity about his many, many issues. It's been talked upon countless times in his comics since his first appearance in 1991.

Although Deadpool was created as a parody character of Marvel villain, Deathstroke, it appears that the parody has grown a larger cult following compared to its inspiration. The crowd was packed on opening night for "Deadpool 2" and I was not surprised. Fans were ready to see what this stupid, crazy immortal had up his sleeve this time after his origin movie, "Deadpool" (2016) where we got to see how this anti-hero came to be, plus the tragedy of the man behind the mask.

In his sequel there is a child that needs the help from the Merc with the Mouth, and with some new buddies, Deadpool fights to save him from being assassinated by a half-cyborg man from the future.

Knowing me, I'm not the biggest fan of sequels, but I was ecstatic to watch this in theaters. Was I right to be excited, and the movie turned out to be a killer success, or did it suffer so badly that I'd rather watch Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine again?

As brought up earlier, the plot of the sequel focuses on Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and his mission to save a young boy from a man named Cable (Josh Brolin) who is on his own mission to kill the boy for unknown reasons- at first.

Through this, Deadpool discovers the power of family from the most unexpected of individuals. You think I'm being cheesy or lazy with my writing there? Nope, Deadpool literally tells you this at the start of the movie, that this movie is a family film. I liked that this is pretty much a repetition of how he said the first movie was a love story, and he's telling you what to expect.

Obviously, him saying this doesn't mean it's a typical family film- it is rated R after all. However, the genre did tie in nicely with the series of events that played out, and it's cool to watch this family film be so unorthodox.

The run time is an hour and forty nine minutes long, making it basically two hours, but I was not bored for a second. The movie had a strong pace and there wasn't a moment where you'd want to look down at your phone or sneak out to go to the bathroom because everything seemed significant to the story.

I also liked the way in which the writers had the talent to mix drama and humor together, because it can be challenging to have those tie in together and make it work. You could be a bit thrown off by the shift in tone the first few times but you start to realize that it works for the movie.

When you're thrown off, it doesn't mean that scene was awful or it ruins the whole film, it just takes to getting used to. You could have a genuinely sad scene occur and right after that a silly statement to relieve the tension. I think the delivery and timing of the actors is what really helps avoid the movie from being really annoying. I remember wanting more quips because I wanted to see what the characters would come up with.

Speaking of characters, all of them were likable in their own way. From heroes to villains, each actor brought out strong performances in the people they were casted as. Deadpool is undoubtedly one of the funniest Marvel characters to spawn in our lifetime, but without the help of Reynolds to bring his character to life, the mercenary could have went down in the box office.

Brolin as Cable preformed great as well, and it wasn't until after I watched the film that I discovered that Brolin also acted as Thanos in "Avengers: Infinity War" which is impressive given the differences between the two characters. What will be even more impressive is the double amount of memes created about Brolin as these characters. I'm sure he'll have a field day with Tumblr.

The kid in the middle of this drama, named Russell (Julian Dennison) did well with his part, although there were times where I found some of his lines a bit too cheesy. Looking back on it though, I'll just chalk that up to normal behavior for a young child to do.

I think Russell was a symbol of the abuse inflicted upon people when they are young for being different from other people, specifically being a part of the LGBTQ community. The X-Men are sometimes compared to LGBTQ people who face tribulations against those who bash their sexuality, so it's not a stretch to witness similarities between kids like Russell who are ostracized from society to people who have fought to be accepted for who they are for many years.

Deadpool's inclusion in Russell's life was sweeter than one would expect, as you can tell Deadpool tries his best to protect the boy throughout the movie. His decisions to go about that weren't always the best, but one could find kindness in Deadpool's heart when it comes to children since he's been a troubled child in the past. This isn't highlighted a lot in the movie, but it's implied and it could be easy to miss if you're not paying attention.

Another new character that is making their first appearance in this Deadpool series is Domino (Zazie Beets) who is a member of the team that Deadpool ends up forming. She too was very likable, and I think her superpower is supposed to be a joke about how overpowering characters are in comics because their powers are typically giving them Godlike abilities- thus ruining any concern a reader might have about whether that character will survive or not because oftentimes they do. I enjoyed her appearance, attitude, and the fact that she wasn't used as a sex symbol or love interest for anybody. If anything, it was the male characters that exuded more of that.

The only complaint that I would have about this movie is how by the end of it, everything that transpired felt pointless. Deadpool is the king of breaking the fourth wall, but the ending of the movie takes this to a whole new level where this power completely eradicates major plot points. I have trouble being content with this, because this opens a million of questions. If Deadpool could do that, could he change things in other Marvel movies? Is the audience supposed to see this as canon to the story? Does this defeat the purpose of the moral the film was trying to achieve?

I'm sure that at the end of the day, this may be canon to future Deadpool films but it's also meant as a fun joke that won't go any further than this sequel. Besides, this doesn't take away from the fact that this movie was amazing! The story was fun to follow, the characters were all lovable, music choice was random but appropriate for a movie about Deadpool.

Would I recommend watching it? Yes. Would I watch it again? Yes. Would I buy it on DvD? No.

Just kidding! Yes, I would absolutely get it on DvD.

I give "Deadpool 2" a 5 out of 5 stars.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Did Wade and Vanessa break up between the first and second movie? She couldn't handle his deformed face, I guess.

A dig at Wolverine. You are a cold one, Deadpool. So when will that be selling at the next comic con?

The scene where Deadpool blows himself up had an amazing shot.

Don't tell me Vanessa broke up with him because he missed an anniversary. That would be so immature of her considering all that they've been through.

Thank God, my assumptions weren't correct! She's still the most awesome girlfriend anyone could ever have.

A baby? Maybe now is not the best time to have a baby when your boyfriend is both a mercenary and an immortal.

I just love Wade and Vanessa's chemistry. They have a love that I hope I can one day have...

They're not going to kill off Vanessa. It's only been a few minutes.

So...I guess Vanessa's dead now. What the hell?!

Is Wade hugging the killer because he's happy? This is a comedy with dark humor, so maybe- and they both got hit by a car...

It's needless to say that the introduction to the title is hilarious and cinematic, but the Celine Dion song is also really good. I've already listened to it ten times in a row, and probably more in the future.

Is Vanessa going to be Death from the Deadpool comics? If so, then I could probably be more content with her death.

Negasonic Teenage Warhead has a girlfriend and it's nice how they state it and that's all. No overwhelming displays of affection, because some people need to realize that just because someone is interested in the same sex that doesn't mean they're shoving kissing down their throats all the time.

The X-Men hiding away from Deadpool was so funny! I love the humor in this.

Little Orphan Annie eating cereal?

Are there any plus size superheroes or villains that aren't jokes about just because they've bigger?
I can't recall. Man, do we have a long way to go to have every kind of person included in a positive light.

What character is on that pen the kid is holding? Barbie?

Deadpool told you to not befriend him and find someone else, and you're sad that he says he doesn't care about you? Why are you surprised by that now?

Terry Crews! He's going to kick butt!

I can't help but feel like they made Domino black strictly because people have complained about a lack of diversity in entertainment. I like the character, but it's been bugging me. It's nice and all, it really is, and it would be amazing to have much more diversity in our entertainment industry. However,  I don't want everyone to feel pressured to put their original character in a different mold because they fear people will call them racist for having an all white cast.

In some stories, it's makes sense to have an all white cast (depending on era or location) and even if it's not, if that's the original character and you can't picture them being anything other than that then I wouldn't get angry about that. I say let people with minority leads be more prominent in media, give them a wider lenses in the eyes of audiences so they get recognized more. Plus, if there are minority characters who don't have to appear negatively, then don't let them be negative.

Don't push the toxic stereotypes, because I think that's a bigger issue. People are upset that when there are minorities on screen, they are ghetto or a drug dealer or seen as promiscuous and so much more negative outlooks. Unless the script requires that character to behave that way (example- a villain) then tone it down a bit.

Peter is going to be the surprise person to kill the villain in the end. Bet.

Peter is gone! Well, I guess X-Force wasn't meant to be...by the way, who's the guy who played Zeitgeist, the one who spits acid? He looks familiar. It! He played It in the new movie!

Stan Lee mural cameo!

The audience was really getting a kick out of those baby legs. They couldn't stop laughing.

I wish there was more of Negasonic and her girlfriend fighting Juggernaut. I expected more out of the two of them.

The great and mighty Juggernaut has now been seen with an electrical cord up his butt. Fans of him, look at his glory.

Wade and Vanessa both died by a gunshot (also in the same spot I think).

"Why aren't I crying?" said a young woman near me who had big reactions throughout the film. She was referring to Deadpool's death scene where he would be able to finally stay dead. I don't think that scene was all too sad, but the one afterwards with Vanessa telling Deadpool he can't stay after all and then the two kissing to an acoustic version of Take on Me while Wade looked like his normal self was more emotional. I wonder if she silently cried to that.

Damn, this kissing scene with Take on Me in the background really is emotional. I can't cry to a Deadpool movie...

What made Cable want to turn back time to revive Deadpool? Let him rest in peace and be with Vanessa. Cable is a jerk.

After all of this work saving your wife and daughter, you're not going to return to them? Don't you think death is better than not having a husband and father around suddenly? I know what it is, Cable was an absent father or divorced from the wife and when he went to check on them for a second chance they were dead. That would explain why he's so cool with just never seeing them again, because they could do without him.

Go taxi driver, with your first kill!

I see Juggernaut getting out of the pool...So you know he's going to be a villain in the sequel.

Is the section where Deadpool is saving Vanessa and Peter's life canon? I was sad with Vanessa dead but I would have liked that better. Could've been a great direction towards her playing Death.

So Deadpool saved Peter but not the other members of the X-Force? Why? Also, Terry Crews' character could have survived! He just crashed into a bus, there's a possibility.

Ryan Reynolds can make fun of himself so well. Shooting himself in the head. I like that in a man.

Simplemente no me gusta Tony y Pepper juntos.

"Tenemos nombres de Kick Ass y tomar", Mantis, I love you.

¡No!

Oh mi dios, Bucky...No! No otra vez! ¡No!

"Thanos volverá," ¡No!

It has been ten long years since Marvel Studios started seducing people into following an intricate timeline of superhero movies that would eventually lead up to this movie that they've all been waiting for: 'Avengers: Infinity War.'

Starting with the first 'Iron Man' released in May 2008 (or 'Captain America: The First Avenger' if you want to make the timeline linear) fans have witnessed the origins of every single character that plays a major role in this life or death war against a villain that we all knew was coming, but still weren't prepared for.

Fans who chose to watch this movie had to brace themselves for all the action, drama, and twists to come. After all of these years, was 'Infinity War' worth the wait or should this story just disappear off the Earth?

In 'Infinity War' the story is about nearly all of the Marvel heroes working together to try and stop the malicious titan Thanos who is fighting to gather all of the infinity stones: Space, Reality, Power, Mind, Time, and Soul.

I was concerned that with such a bounty of characters, the story would be lopsided and offer more attention to certain people while others would be left to the wayside. Although there are some characters who definitely don't receive as much screen time, based on the series of events, it makes sense that the audience would not see them until a certain time. I believe each character had enough time to make an impact to the war, but that doesn't mean I didn't want more from them.

It's like this: I understand why they can't be in it more, but I'm greedy.

Another thing that worried me was the idea that 'Infinity War' would be dark in tone and unlike the former Marvel movies where there was a good amount of comic relief, there would be none to escape from the intensity of the situations that are playing on screen. Turns out I was wrong, in fact the movie mostly felt like a breeze because the lovable characters we've followed are still the same: cracking jokes, having petty arguments, all that we would expect from even the most serious of heroes.

Even so, there's a lot riding on the heroes to save the Earth- besides the obvious- as the film stresses the theme of love in all forms. Each character has something to lose if Thanos gets all of the infinity stones, and to lose those things would mean an inner death to themselves.

I'm referring to love like Tony Stark and Pepper Potts's romance, or Rocket Racoon's fatherly bond with Groot, or Black Panther's commitment to Wakanda. There are all forms of love rooted in each hero that they are fighting for, which doesn't make them appear to be fighting in this war just for the thrill of it all.

It's pleasant to watch these relationships play out, since you can see how far a lot of the characters came from since their first films. It also tells how diverse each one is in personality, which makes this production even more impressive by having to juggle all of them around. Yet even with the comic relief and heartwarming moments, the progression of the film does bring the situation to light as being incredibly threatening to everybody's lives. Thanos was be a force to be reckon with and no matter what powers someone had, no one was safe from his wrath.

The movie ends in a way that left me speechless and feeling numb throughout my body, as if I was merely a set of eyes floating in the theater, my focus glued to the screen. I would assume that everyone else felt a similar way, as there was no noise omitted in the last couple of minutes and no one even gave a round of applause once the credits rolled as we simply just left the theater in silence. The ending is certainly one for the books, but I'd be lying if I said that I was completely satisfied.

Fun fact: I am often irritated with unconventional endings, in other words, endings that people are not satisfied with. This is because nine times out of ten there will be a sequel to rectify the situation and therefore, all would be well again and it's like nothing ever happened.

This movie's ending would be much more emotional for me if I had something in my heart that told me, "Nothing will change this," but I can guarantee you something will change for the better. Yes, Marvel Studios has amazingly developed characters that have a bounty of storylines in their respective comics, but sometimes a movie can be appreciated more if things end negatively because it's more likely for people to still be talking about this ending and the guts it took to leave this particular storyline alone and done with.

I'm tired of these constant happy endings where people are too afraid to hit at the jugular and keep things the way they are. It's fun to try new things, experiment with unique endings, not having all this chaos occur and then someone can snap their fingers and everything is good again. This doesn't mean I don't get sad when I actually find a movie that goes the extra limit when necessary, but it's good to be sad. It's good to be disappointed; it's a part of life. Not everything has a happily ever after.

Based on what I've learned about the power of the infinity stones, plus valuable information given by a couple of characters, I would try to not take the ending seriously because I believe that it is not what it seems.

The settings in this film are vast and beautiful, and a lot of them are recognizable since they were present in previous films. The galaxy, Wakanda, all of this is shown in the movie and more and I really don't have much to say on this part. It was all pretty well done.

It's incredibly hard to talk much further about the movie without spoilers, so I will end this review. Just note that I want to talk about each major character very briefly. Below my rating for the movie and before the spoiler section, there will be a list of my thoughts on each character in 'Infinity War' in less than four sentences.

'Infinity War' was certainly worth the money spent and it's hard to pin point where the story will lead. According to my theater and I, there didn't seem to be anybody who expected what we got and even now I am struggling to cope with the events that I witnessed on opening night.

Would I recommend seeing it? Absolutely. Would I buy it when it comes out on DvD? Yes.
Would I watch it again? Despite how well done it is, I don't know if I have the heart to re-watch it.

I give 'Avengers: Infinity War' a 5 out of 5 stars.

CHARACTERS

Iron Man- Big contribution to the war, one of the most helpful I say. Always funny.

Doctor Strange- Kind of a jerk, but already was from the get-go. Has a turn around though. Provides probability of victory for heroes which makes me wonder about the sequel.

Spider Man- Great acting from Tom Holland. Very lovable and funny, but also made me feel the saddest for him.

Thor- Pretty much has a deux ex machina moment. Proves his worth as an Avenger and I am very proud of him.

Captain America- Not feeling the beard. I'm still upset about Civil War. I bet that he was going to die.

Winter Soldier- Precious human being who deserved none of what he got. Often seems to get the short end of the stick. Seems more at peace with himself and I wish I got more personal moments with him and Captain America.

Black Widow- I've never been interested in this character. Every time she is on screen I feel annoyed. I feel bad for that, but she contributed well to the war.

Bruce Banner- Barely contributes to the war. Seems to be picked on when he's not being helpful. I guess when it's life or death, you can't really blame anyone for being mad at Bruce.

Black Panther- Wished I saw him more. Helped in bringing a lot of backup for war.

Okoye- Awesome character. Also pretty funny.

Shuri- A little of a jerk for throwing shade at Bruce. Curious about her outcome.

Scarlet Witch- Decent person who always seems to look sad. Did things that most people couldn't bring themselves to do.

Vision- I assumed he'd die more than Captain America because he has an infinity stone in his head. Tragic character. One of the kindest heroes.

Star Lord- Ruins everything for everyone. I still like him though; I'm just being mean and I know I would do the same thing he did if I was in his place.

Gamora- Great to see her opening up to Star Lord more. Unwillingly contributes to the war in a bad way.

Drax- I relate to this character so much, I love him. His quotes sounds like something I'd say.

Mantis- Adorable character with interesting powers.

Rocket- Cool racoon with a soft heart. A tough loving dad to Groot.

Groot- Teenage Groot is stereotypical to what people think what teenagers act like, but it didn't bother me much. More helpful towards the end of the movie.

Thanos- Shows more than just evil in his heart. I kind of understand his motives, but he is still evil and I want him gone.

I wonder who is going to be the first superhero to show up in this long-awaited movie? Loki! Well, you're not a hero, but I guess this will work...Thor! There you are!

*Sees Loki die at the hands of Thanos*...He's fine.

Thor died too? He can't die before the title card! He's one of the bigger characters on the poster, but how could he escape that blast? This can't be the end of Thor and Loki- after three movies!

I just don't like Tony and Pepper together. I really don't, it seems so odd picturing them romantically.

I never thought of Iron Man and Doctor Strange talking together, but the dialogue is full of snarky comments that are hilarious. How could I not see this coming?

Ned, you are so awesome! I'd want a friend like Ned.

Hello, Stan Lee bus driver. I suppose that's the only plausible way to cameo in this movie, unless you want to be a superhero

Squidward. Really? This will get dated now. What year will be the starting point of where kids will have no clue what Spongebob Squarepants is? There appears to be no end in sight.

What Bruce says about, "I don't want to, but when do I ever get what I want?" is relatable.

Pepper, get out of here with that, "You better come back or else" because you know that city has been attacked more than once. If Doctor Strange tells your fiancée to help him save the world, he better save that world before he go home to you tonight. What, you going to break up with him if he doesn't come back in time? Well, you probably broke up at the end of the movie if you were one of the people that disintegrated.

This coupling of Scarlet Witch and Vision is pretty cute, but boy are they in for tragedy. I can smell it before it even happens.

Vision may have been saved now, but he will die by the end of the movie. Mark my words!

Black Widow....ugh

I am not feeling this Captain America beard

So this is how they'll connect Black Panther to this. How does Captain America know about Wakanda? Right, Bucky! That's right.

Seeing the Guardians of the Galaxy with everyone else in this movie feels weird; I always dissociate them away from Marvel even though I know they are clearly a part of Marvel!

Thor! I knew you weren't dead! Now where's Loki?

There they go focusing only on his stunning looks, but I mean, the guardians have a God at their grasp. That's like having Jesus Christ on my dinner table...with an eye patch.

Star Lord and Gamora's kiss was sweet. In the beginning, I wasn't a fan of them as a couple but I like it now. It makes sense to me.

"I've mastered the ability of standing so still...that I am invisible to the eye," I love Drax so much. This is not what I expected for Batista, but he does a great job in acting!

I'm surprised Gamora would cry over Thanos' supposed death, but then again I'm not. After all, this was someone who raised her from a very young age. It's similar to a lot of people's situation, your parents may be bad, could even be downright evil, but at the end of the day you've grown so attached to them that it's difficult to see yourself living without them around- that normalcy. Oh my goodness, I just cracked the case on why people marry people like their fathers.

Oh yeah, Bruce and Black Widow had a thing. Something just irks me about that so much.

Nebula! I was worried you wouldn't show up, but I wished you didn't look so...creepy. Seriously, that contraption looks painful.

Red Skull is the keeper of the soul stone? Did I miss something in the first Captain America movie? How does this make sense if he was...nevermind.

I was with Gamora that Thanos didn't love anybody, but when it showed that he was hesitating to throw her off the cliff, I gained some more respect for the writing. This is where I realized that Thanos is not one-dimensional. Yes, he's a bad guy and maybe his love is misconstrued, but that's his way of loving somebody.

So he really killed Gamora...and Loki. That can't be. I'll accept Gamora's death before I accept Loki's.

Spider man and Mantis are both precious. Please don't fight.

"I'll do you one better. WHY is Gamora?" One of my favorite lines.

"We kick names and take ass," Mantis, I love you.

Now is a great time to realize Gamora is dead. Of course it is, so Star Lord can freak out. Only one more minute and everything would have been fine. Darn it, Star Lord. My likability for you has gone down just a tiny bit. I know it shouldn't, but it sure has.

Starbucks recently had some heat for one of the stores having put out two African Americans for no reason. I don't think you'd want a Starbucks, Okoye.

Winter Soldier and Captain America...they are so cute together. I know they will never be a couple, but my 12 year old heart would ship them in a heartbeat. Heck, I ship them now.

"I'm sure you tried your best," The way Shuri said that to Bruce hurt me. Bruce has gone through enough okay? Not everyone is able to acquire the tools to learn the knowledge that you've acquired, so you shouldn't be putting other people down like that.

Peter Dinklage is a giant dwarf? Well if that don't beat all.

Winter Soldier and Rocket kicking butt together is a moment I didn't know I needed.

Vision is so pure and understanding of what he needs to do to save the world. Such a great person, but darn does this movie love to hurt him. Get killed by your love only to be brought back to life to be killed again? He just doesn't get a break.

What a turn around! Thor going from being possibly dead to being the one to defeat Thanos! It takes a God to kill a Titan. Wait...aim for the head? No!

The scene with Thanos and little Gamora was beautiful.

Oh my God, Bucky...No! Not again! Don't go again, please. Why does this keep happening in front of Captain America too? The poor fangirls! The angst fan fiction! The fan art! The horror! No! My heart will never be the same...

Scarlet Witch looks so sad being disintegrated. She-like Vision- has gone through hell. Maybe in a way, this is her only way to get peace. So if they bring her back to life, I will be mad because she'll no longer being in peace.

Black Panther only got one movie and is already dead. Thanks a lot, Marvel.

Spider man's pleading that he doesn't want to die reminds me of the scene in Spiderman: Homecoming when he was crushed by the rubble and crying for help. He's just a kid in a crazy world and he did all he could to help. He shouldn't be saying sorry. It's not his fault. Tom Holland about to make me cry.

That scene where the Hulk is running through the trees with Captain American and Okoye never happened. The Hulk was barely in this at all.

"Thanos will return," No!

I thought I'd be out of this theater feeling okay, but I'm not okay. I promise.
