(Not on poster, just a comment on it: #Suicide Squad...really?)

Yes! Finally one of the most anticipated movies of 2016 has arrived to the big screen. I along with thousands of people have been dying to see Suicide Squad, the DC movie about grouping the world's worst heroes together to stop a terrible force from destroying Gotham city...again.

The idea of a DC movie without the popular superheroes like Superman and Wonder Woman gracing the screen is peculiar. After all, throughout the last few years, popular media has constantly been pushing our heroes and heroines in our faces, which includes Iron Man 1, 2 and 3, Thor 1 and 2, Captain America 1 and 2, Avengers 1 and 2, Man of Steel, Batman versus Superman, the upcoming Wonder Woman and Aqua man movie....You get the idea.

Some people find more fascination with seeing the world from a villain's perspective, someone who isn't usually respected by society, because then we don't hear the typical good guy shtick about needing to protect the people they love and be a symbol for their hometown.

A villain is the opposite of that; they don't tend to care about who lives in the town they reside in, and ironically, following a character who probably wouldn't give a care in the world for you can be much more entertaining than someone who would.

However, does Suicide Squad manage to give their eager audience the awesome action-packed film they expected or does this film about some of the bad guys of DC deserve a bad rating?

The storyline is about government agent Amanda "The Wall" Waller (Viola Davis) banding together a group of Gotham city's worst citizens so they can work together as a team and defeat the powerful Enchantress (Cara Delevingne). Like some characters would address in the film, this plan sounds crazy right off the bat. Crazy for the obvious, these people are not known to listen to authority and can easily get out of hand and go rouge. But Waller uses a clever way to keep villains like the notorious Deadshot (Will Smith) and deranged Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) under her foot until the mission is complete.

I believe the plot was very interesting, but some of the characters have been altered a little bit, particularly with Harley Quinn, El Diablo (Jay Hernandez) and the Enchantress. Watching the movie, I sensed that these characters were not the same ones that we released in the DC comics, so me being curious, I did a little research on all them. Turns out that each of them were not exactly identical to their comic counterpart.

First off with Harley Quinn, the movie portrays her like she was forced with be with the Joker due to the abuse he gave her when she was a physiatrist, but according to every other form of media she's been in, she was gradually willing to follow the Joker's plan. The Joker had convinced her that he was good enough to work with and she let herself become a fool. But in Suicide Squad, the Joker tortured Quinn to the point where she snapped and became a completely different woman.

Basically, the movie gives no punishment to Quinn and removes all the blame off of her for being with The Joker. In the comics, it states that she completely chooses to be with the Joker, slowly but surely allowing her brain to become like his and despite her massive intelligence, she succumbs to loneliness and wishes to be loved by someone who showed her attention.

Because of her naivety, she loses her job, but in the movie, the Joker destroys the facility and brainwashes her instead, so we cannot truly say that it was partially her fault for being a villain.

Onto El Diablo (also known as Chato Santana in the comics). In the comics, Santana receives his powers transferred to him by Lazarus Lane, who was another man with fire powers and who was also referred to as El Diablo. Yet Suicide Squad's El Diablo explains that he had these powers since birth and he's been learning to control them all of his life. Plus, the reason behind why El Diablo is more passive and reluctant to fight with the Suicide Squad is also changed, which can devastate some viewers.

Lastly, aside from the costume change, the Enchantress' major difference comes from her alter ego's personality, June Moon. Moon in Suicide Squad is a smart but possessed woman who is constantly fearful about harming those around her if she loses control of herself and gives into the Enchantress.
And this quick summary probably reminds you of The Incredible Hulk, which is about a smart man who is plagued with a terrible experiment gone wrong and he is constantly fearful about harming those around him if he loses control of himself and gives into the Hulk...

June Moon reminded me too much about the Hulk and that can be very distracting. Plus, the enchantress is considered as more of an anti-hero in the comics rather than a villain, but for what it's worth, I did enjoy Suicide Squad's Enchantress and June Moon. They weren't bad at all, it's just the backstory sounded so familiar to me.

As for the other characters like Deadshot, Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) and Katana (Karen Fukuhara), they were great. I'm sure Will Smith relished in his role and got a kick out of shooting the guns and getting into fights. I wish I could have seen more of Killer Croc, I found him very intriguing and funny. Katana was just amazing in her fighting skills and her stoic attitude makes it known not to cross her. Plus, her backstory is also interesting and I would love to get to know her more.

One more character I'd like to mention is the infamous Joker (Jared Leto). Like his enemy Batman, The Joker has so many different versions to his character, both appearance and personality wise.

I didn't enjoy this Joker. At worst, he was mediocre to me and at best he creeped me out not with his actions but with his face alone. This Joker's appearance made me feel uneasy, like an perverted old man eyeing you across the street. I just wish he'd stop sighing obnoxiously and eyeing people like he was planning to do something sexually immoral with them. I mean, everyone has an opinion and this Harley can still fall in love with him, and she has!

But think of it this way...you know how one of your best friends gets a new boyfriend or girlfriend and you don't like them, but in the back of your head, you can kind of tell how they attracted your best friend? That's not how I felt with the Joker. There was no charm as there was just creepy grins and that's strange to say about the Joker!

Even despite how many people he's killed and how he's known for abusing Harley Quinn, fans of DC still appreciate the Joker as being one of the best Batman villains for his skillful way of being hilarious but also menacing to the Gotham world.  I guess if there's a sequel (which there probably will be) there is a chance to redeem this Joker, because he is not shown as much as Harley Quinn or the rest of the Suicide Squad, so it's leaves the actor less time to charm the audience with something other than hungry eyes.

The fight scenes I thought we so much fun, we get to see each character reveal their fighting technique and seeing these popular villains interact with one another is very funny. The final fight scene is by far my favorite of them all, it felt tense, you weren't sure what would come next, it had my heart pounding a little. The movie had decent pacing and aside from two or three occasions, I didn't feel lost within the story at all.

As I neared the end of the movie, I realized that most of the Suicide Squad and even June Moon all had one thing in common: Love. Each of them held a genuine love for somebody and when the movie was coming to a close, that love is what fueled them to try and protect Gotham with every fiber of their being. For a villainous movie, that's a little cheesy, but it can be difficult to notice if you don't compare each character to their similar traits, so it's nothing horrible.

Suicide Squad was an extremely fun movie to watch from beginning to end. The only flaws I think it has is all subjective to the viewer and wouldn't destroy this movie as a whole; unless you really wanted the original comic book villains you read years ago. The Joker is one of my least favorite parts of the film, but he's not included in the movie very often so I'll let him pass. I'd consider Suicide Squad a 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.

Was Batman giving CPR to Harley Quinn necessary to see? Was that just for Batman and Harley shippers?

Wait...June...Moon. Her name is literally June Moon? That's hilarious!

June Moon is making me feel so bad for her. Reminds me of the Hulk.

How is Deadshot going to ask to have full custody of his daughter? Apparently the mom is negligent or too lazy to care for her, but you've murdered people! Is that a safe environment for your daughter? Even if you don't ever kill again, some people will want revenge and hurt those that are closest to you.

How did Killer Croc get all scaly like that? ...No movie, I'm serious. Are we...not going to go in depth with that?

Who was that guy who was killed? The one who was hanging upside down for disobeying orders? I know I saw him but he was just expendable I guess. Throwaway character...

What do the knives around the Joker meant? Was he trying to kill himself? And did I see baby clothes in the far right corner?

Why did Captain Boomerang take the pink toy? Does he have a daughter? If so, they never say so. Maybe in the sequel. It might be just to sell it, but from the looks of him he tries so hard to keep it with him when he could've easily left it during fights.

I can admit...I watched Harley's butt when she strutted past everyone after beating the army up in the elevator. What? The movie CLEARLY wants you to look. Plus, she had some nice shorts too.

What did Harley and Joker jump into? Was that in the comics? Thought it would turn her skin white...

Joker isn't dead.

I expected Harley to cry really hard and smash a window after thinking Joker died. She took it much better than I thought she would.

El Diablo with the fire lady was cute, but it got cheesy after he told his sad story and made the fire lady "die" underneath the shot glass.

So...did your wife just never ask about the tattoos? She thought they were cute?

Wait a minute...this El Diablo had these powers since he was born...then why was he not able to handle them when he was arguing with his wife? The situation at hand would make a father angry, but he had to have gone through more devastating things before then. Girlfriend broke up with him, death in the family, gang violence, jail, dealing with babies for the first time when they cry and scream and complain. But your wife saying she would sleep over at her mom's with the kids sets you off? Yes, it could be code for, "I'm leaving you" but...I mean, he's been practicing his anger for years and she didn't outright say she's divorce you or tell you to never see the kids again!

Umm Harley, I get being honest with yourself and trying to accept your wrongdoings and "own it" but...this guy killed his family. By the way, where is your family? You were a psychiatrist, someone helped you get where you are through financial or mental support. Plus, you were a psychiatrist! There's got to be something in that head that knows that murdering your family isn't like accidentally bumping into a stranger.

I like the Enchantress' voice...so hypnotizing

El Diablo, noo!!!

WHY DIDN'T THE ENCHANTRESS KILL WALLER?!
