Suicide Squad (2016)

...A U.S intelligence officer decides to assemble a team of dangerous, incarcerated super villains for a top-secret mission...while the diabolical Joker launches an evil agenda of his own
(Source: Google.com)

Suicide Squad Trailer- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmRih_VtVAs

(Not on poster, just a comment on it: #Suicide Squad...really?)

Yes! Finally one of the most anticipated movies of 2016 has arrived to the big screen. I along with thousands of people have been dying to see Suicide Squad, the DC movie about grouping the world's worst heroes together to stop a terrible force from destroying Gotham city...again.

The idea of a DC movie without the popular superheroes like Superman and Wonder Woman gracing the screen is peculiar. After all, throughout the last few years, popular media has constantly been pushing our heroes and heroines in our faces, which includes Iron Man 1, 2 and 3, Thor 1 and 2, Captain America 1 and 2, Avengers 1 and 2, Man of Steel, Batman versus Superman, the upcoming Wonder Woman and Aqua man movie....You get the idea.

Some people find more fascination with seeing the world from a villain's perspective, someone who isn't usually respected by society, because then we don't hear the typical good guy shtick about needing to protect the people they love and be a symbol for their hometown.

A villain is the opposite of that; they don't tend to care about who lives in the town they reside in, and ironically, following a character who probably wouldn't give a care in the world for you can be much more entertaining than someone who would.

However, does Suicide Squad manage to give their eager audience the awesome action-packed film they expected or does this film about some of the bad guys of DC deserve a bad rating?

The storyline is about government agent Amanda "The Wall" Waller (Viola Davis) banding together a group of Gotham city's worst citizens so they can work together as a team and defeat the powerful Enchantress (Cara Delevingne). Like some characters would address in the film, this plan sounds crazy right off the bat. Crazy for the obvious, these people are not known to listen to authority and can easily get out of hand and go rouge. But Waller uses a clever way to keep villains like the notorious Deadshot (Will Smith) and deranged Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) under her foot until the mission is complete.

I believe the plot was very interesting, but some of the characters have been altered a little bit, particularly with Harley Quinn, El Diablo (Jay Hernandez) and the Enchantress. Watching the movie, I sensed that these characters were not the same ones that we released in the DC comics, so me being curious, I did a little research on all them. Turns out that each of them were not exactly identical to their comic counterpart.

First off with Harley Quinn, the movie portrays her like she was forced with be with the Joker due to the abuse he gave her when she was a physiatrist, but according to every other form of media she's been in, she was gradually willing to follow the Joker's plan. The Joker had convinced her that he was good enough to work with and she let herself become a fool. But in Suicide Squad, the Joker tortured Quinn to the point where she snapped and became a completely different woman.

Basically, the movie gives no punishment to Quinn and removes all the blame off of her for being with The Joker. In the comics, it states that she completely chooses to be with the Joker, slowly but surely allowing her brain to become like his and despite her massive intelligence, she succumbs to loneliness and wishes to be loved by someone who showed her attention.

Because of her naivety, she loses her job, but in the movie, the Joker destroys the facility and brainwashes her instead, so we cannot truly say that it was partially her fault for being a villain.

Onto El Diablo (also known as Chato Santana in the comics). In the comics, Santana receives his powers transferred to him by Lazarus Lane, who was another man with fire powers and who was also referred to as El Diablo. Yet Suicide Squad's El Diablo explains that he had these powers since birth and he's been learning to control them all of his life. Plus, the reason behind why El Diablo is more passive and reluctant to fight with the Suicide Squad is also changed, which can devastate some viewers.

Lastly, aside from the costume change, the Enchantress' major difference comes from her alter ego's personality, June Moon. Moon in Suicide Squad is a smart but possessed woman who is constantly fearful about harming those around her if she loses control of herself and gives into the Enchantress.
And this quick summary probably reminds you of The Incredible Hulk, which is about a smart man who is plagued with a terrible experiment gone wrong and he is constantly fearful about harming those around him if he loses control of himself and gives into the Hulk...

June Moon reminded me too much about the Hulk and that can be very distracting. Plus, the enchantress is considered as more of an anti-hero in the comics rather than a villain, but for what it's worth, I did enjoy Suicide Squad's Enchantress and June Moon. They weren't bad at all, it's just the backstory sounded so familiar to me.

As for the other characters like Deadshot, Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) and Katana (Karen Fukuhara), they were great. I'm sure Will Smith relished in his role and got a kick out of shooting the guns and getting into fights. I wish I could have seen more of Killer Croc, I found him very intriguing and funny. Katana was just amazing in her fighting skills and her stoic attitude makes it known not to cross her. Plus, her backstory is also interesting and I would love to get to know her more.

One more character I'd like to mention is the infamous Joker (Jared Leto). Like his enemy Batman, The Joker has so many different versions to his character, both appearance and personality wise.

I didn't enjoy this Joker. At worst, he was mediocre to me and at best he creeped me out not with his actions but with his face alone. This Joker's appearance made me feel uneasy, like an perverted old man eyeing you across the street. I just wish he'd stop sighing obnoxiously and eyeing people like he was planning to do something sexually immoral with them. I mean, everyone has an opinion and this Harley can still fall in love with him, and she has!

But think of it this way...you know how one of your best friends gets a new boyfriend or girlfriend and you don't like them, but in the back of your head, you can kind of tell how they attracted your best friend? That's not how I felt with the Joker. There was no charm as there was just creepy grins and that's strange to say about the Joker!

Even despite how many people he's killed and how he's known for abusing Harley Quinn, fans of DC still appreciate the Joker as being one of the best Batman villains for his skillful way of being hilarious but also menacing to the Gotham world.  I guess if there's a sequel (which there probably will be) there is a chance to redeem this Joker, because he is not shown as much as Harley Quinn or the rest of the Suicide Squad, so it's leaves the actor less time to charm the audience with something other than hungry eyes.

The fight scenes I thought we so much fun, we get to see each character reveal their fighting technique and seeing these popular villains interact with one another is very funny. The final fight scene is by far my favorite of them all, it felt tense, you weren't sure what would come next, it had my heart pounding a little. The movie had decent pacing and aside from two or three occasions, I didn't feel lost within the story at all.

As I neared the end of the movie, I realized that most of the Suicide Squad and even June Moon all had one thing in common: Love. Each of them held a genuine love for somebody and when the movie was coming to a close, that love is what fueled them to try and protect Gotham with every fiber of their being. For a villainous movie, that's a little cheesy, but it can be difficult to notice if you don't compare each character to their similar traits, so it's nothing horrible.

Suicide Squad was an extremely fun movie to watch from beginning to end. The only flaws I think it has is all subjective to the viewer and wouldn't destroy this movie as a whole; unless you really wanted the original comic book villains you read years ago. The Joker is one of my least favorite parts of the film, but he's not included in the movie very often so I'll let him pass. I'd consider Suicide Squad a 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.

Was Batman giving CPR to Harley Quinn necessary to see? Was that just for Batman and Harley shippers?

Wait...June...Moon. Her name is literally June Moon? That's hilarious!

June Moon is making me feel so bad for her. Reminds me of the Hulk.

How is Deadshot going to ask to have full custody of his daughter? Apparently the mom is negligent or too lazy to care for her, but you've murdered people! Is that a safe environment for your daughter? Even if you don't ever kill again, some people will want revenge and hurt those that are closest to you.

How did Killer Croc get all scaly like that? ...No movie, I'm serious. Are we...not going to go in depth with that?

Who was that guy who was killed? The one who was hanging upside down for disobeying orders? I know I saw him but he was just expendable I guess. Throwaway character...

What do the knives around the Joker meant? Was he trying to kill himself? And did I see baby clothes in the far right corner?

Why did Captain Boomerang take the pink toy? Does he have a daughter? If so, they never say so. Maybe in the sequel. It might be just to sell it, but from the looks of him he tries so hard to keep it with him when he could've easily left it during fights.

I can admit...I watched Harley's butt when she strutted past everyone after beating the army up in the elevator. What? The movie CLEARLY wants you to look. Plus, she had some nice shorts too.

What did Harley and Joker jump into? Was that in the comics? Thought it would turn her skin white...

Joker isn't dead.

I expected Harley to cry really hard and smash a window after thinking Joker died. She took it much better than I thought she would.

El Diablo with the fire lady was cute, but it got cheesy after he told his sad story and made the fire lady "die" underneath the shot glass.

So...did your wife just never ask about the tattoos? She thought they were cute?

Wait a minute...this El Diablo had these powers since he was born...then why was he not able to handle them when he was arguing with his wife? The situation at hand would make a father angry, but he had to have gone through more devastating things before then. Girlfriend broke up with him, death in the family, gang violence, jail, dealing with babies for the first time when they cry and scream and complain. But your wife saying she would sleep over at her mom's with the kids sets you off? Yes, it could be code for, "I'm leaving you" but...I mean, he's been practicing his anger for years and she didn't outright say she's divorce you or tell you to never see the kids again!

Umm Harley, I get being honest with yourself and trying to accept your wrongdoings and "own it" but...this guy killed his family. By the way, where is your family? You were a psychiatrist, someone helped you get where you are through financial or mental support. Plus, you were a psychiatrist! There's got to be something in that head that knows that murdering your family isn't like accidentally bumping into a stranger.

I like the Enchantress' voice...so hypnotizing

El Diablo, noo!!!

WHY DIDN'T THE ENCHANTRESS KILL WALLER?!

(Fuente-watchfree.to)

Si él estaba dispuesto a amar a casi cualquier chica, habría mostró entonces.

The Boy (2015)

An intimate portrait of a 9-year old boy sociopath's growing fascination with death
(Source-watchfree.to)

The Boy Trailer- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMWRh1IelCo

(On poster: Evil always begins somewhere)

Created by production film company Chiller Films, The Boy is categorized as a horror/thriller and because of the movie poster's demonic-like appearance, I had high expectations for this. I went into watching this expecting supernatural beings, gore, and adults screaming for their lives as they are up against a crazed child!

Unlike the more recent movie also titled The Boy made this year in 2016, this film does not involve a creepy male doll needing to be cared for. Instead, this boy in the 2015 film is real, but he shows his dark nature through his peculiar interest. The poster alone shows a lot of action going on and brings up questions in your head before you even start the movie.

I found this movie on a free, non-subscription website (which I will put a link to below, before the spoiler section) so if I never ventured into that site, then I probably would have never found this film.

With that being said, was The Boy worth looking for? Did this movie bring out the intensity that I expected or was is just spewing out weak flames?

I want to reiterate, I had HIGH expectations for this. The poster was enough to draw me into the story and learn about how the child on that poster became the way he is. I appreciate that the writers did not flat out say what the boy's problem was with lazy exposition from the get-go, but rather allow the audience to guess. It's an easy guess, but at least we weren't told, "Hey, that kid there? He's mad because so and so happened" The writers didn't treat their viewing audience like idiots.

I also remember feeling rather queasy watching this, mostly because of the first 20 minutes. In the beginning we are introduced to the boy named Ted Henely (Jared Breeze) and see his usual routine that most would consider to be unethical. The start of the film really hammers some gruesome imagery that involves a copious amount of blood, guts, and animal death. If you can't stand to see those kind of things, I'd suggest skipping to the 20 to 25 minute mark where there is less gross imagery, but what follows is mediocre storytelling.

At the end credits, it states that The Boy was based of a chapter in a book called 'Miss Corpus' which was written by Clay McLeod Chapman. Knowing that information, I can truly understand why the film felt like it was dragging most of the time, like it spent time having filler than providing more insight into what happens next in the story. The filler could have been handy to use to develop the character more or further the plot and part of me feels like that the filler scenes are probably in the written version and are done with much more grace.

For example, in a couple of scenes, Ted decides to spend time with a kid his own age and he shows the kid to unique locations. Now I thought something like this, a peculiar main character leading another character to a strange place would've brought out more dialogue between them, perhaps Ted discussing death or something, but instead we simply see two boys having fun.

It is also mentioned by Ted's father, John (David Morse) that Ted doesn't have many friends his age but Ted is not affected by this at all, yet when he sees the new kid Ted could have discovered how to take advantage of him and try to convince him to take apart in his morbid fantasies. There are a few scenes that feel like there could have been so much more done to them, but it just fell short.

I was pleased with the cinematography; it did its job at wanting to make tense moments. I took notice of how some scenes wouldn't show a character during a tense moment, such as slowly moving along a wall as people spoke so we're unsure what dangers await them or not.

The characters were actually not too bad. Ted is as stoic as a child could get, keeping to himself whilst also doing the opposite and getting into other people's business in order to accomplish a personal objective that he's been planning for probably years. His backstory is actually quite tragic for a child to go through and it makes sense how he might get damaged from that event and to witness him working every day to reach his goal is bittersweet.

When I watched this, I didn't agree with what the boy would do for money, but as I wrote this review down it began to dawn on me that this boy is doing all of this all because of that event and if that event never happened, then he might just have been a normal and happier child. That thought still doesn't make me agree with his way of getting what he wants (far from it!) but it's a hidden tragedy that many might not see watching this movie for the first time.

John the father was pretty good too. He seemed nice but helpless over the situation he was stuck in and he had no choice but to stay strong for Ted, who didn't seem to acknowledge his hard work in the slightest. As Ted grew more twisted, I felt sorry for the father. This movie isn't set in any supernatural setting, this could occur in real life where the adult feels ashamed for leaving their child in this state.

With movies like 'The Ring' and 'Children of the Corn', the idea of something supposedly full of innocence delving into a state of evil is horrifying to anyone, especially parents. What could you have done to stop this? Why didn't your ways of helping your damaged child not work? You feel like you're a disgrace at parenting and when children end up killing their own kin in some movies, it drives the knife in even deeper.

Side characters such as William Colby (Rainn Wilson) the bearded stranger with a secret past and the family of three that are stuck with Ted and John are fairly decent. I couldn't complain about the acting with anyone actually, but aside from William, it felt like the side characters served no purpose only to change the pacing of the story and provide more characters to "work off of".

It seems that I'm saying more good things than bad about this movie, aren't I? Well it does have an intriguing story, but it's biggest downfall has to big the slow pacing and the filler. Not every movie starring a killer child has to have the child kill in the first 20 minutes, but it didn't really feel like there was a build up to anything till the very end. It felt like Ted was observing and talking to people who ultimately didn't matter to the great deed he would commit.

I wanted to like it, I really did, but I wouldn't recommend this movie as something you absolutely need to see. I love the story idea, but given that it was taken out of a chapter of a book-not the whole book, but a small fraction of it-it clearly shows how the producers were struggling to stretch this story into a full-length film.

Because of the slow pacing and filler, I would have given this a 2 out of 5 stars, but I really do enjoy the story behind it and I think that deserves a little boost to 2 1/2 out of 5.

Aww, what a cute bunny Ted has...oh no, he's going to kill it, isn't he?

Mom sent a letter saying she wish he was with her...pfft, yeah right. How could you leave your son? You're basically the true villain of this story.

12 minutes into the movie, I assumed he would burn the hotel with his father in it

Maybe Ted doesn't like the music because his father and MOTHER always played it for him. Terrible memories for him now.

It always made me chuckle how Ted stayed committed to saying his lines whenever someone needed to stay at the hotel. He sees a bleeding man coming into the room and he says, "Welcome to the honeymoon suite" hahaha!

It doesn't show how the dad cuts the deer up in detail, leaving us to imagine what the boy saw. I liked that.

I predicted William was a killer! I figured that would make it more justified when Ted would kill him.

32 minute mark! Family of 3 arrive.

Ted looks at the kid and the mom interacting and at first I thought it was because he wanted to kill the kid or something, but when I think about it more, it could've been because of the mom. He wants his mom.

At the 1 hour, 11 minute mark there is a funny cutaway. Dramatic music followed by silence.

Oh my goodness! Are they really trying to depict teenagers as the spawn of satan! Why beat up and pour alcohol on the kid?! That's overkill!

I thought that one girl teen who asked if Ted was okay was going to be more apart of the story. Like Ted would let her survive or he'd get attached to her, but nope.

Ted might be a little too serious. We hear all of these stories about him being attached to women, but that doesn't really go anywhere because we don't see him do that. He never tries to talk to the kid's mom, nor try to be more loving to the passed out teenage girl. If he was willing to love almost any girl, he would have showed it then.

Oh no...Ted burnt the motel, but even worse...he probably killed the bunny too! How terrible, I guess I'm happy they didn't show the bunny die...

The ending with him saying he has a mom in Florida. Ahhh, I see what you did there writers!

Cazafantasmas (2016)

Mantente fuerte Leslie Jones <3

ALERONES ADELANTE!!!

Te vas a quedar atrapados!

No me creen?

Ghostbusters (2016)

Following a ghost invasion of Manhattan, paranormal enthusiasts Erin Gilbert and Abby Yates, nuclear engineer Jillian Holzmann, and subway worker Patty Tolan band together to stop the otherworldly threat (Source- Imdb.com, from anonymous)

Ghostsbusters Trailer- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3ugHP-yZXw

The Ghostbusters franchise is once again in popular media, along with many other classic movies that were brought back from the dead. There has been a big surge of sequels, reboots and spinoffs of stories that we grew fond of in the past, including Finding Dory, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, Ice Age 3000 and so forth (The Ice Age 3000 is a joke).

When it came to the rebirth of the sci-fi/action/comedy movie Ghostbusters, there were mixed opinions on what people expected of it. Apparently, there was a huge outrage over the fact that this new Ghostbusters would star four women instead of four men, but I never found that to be entirely true. Sure, there can be people who are sexist and would rather have a man take the spotlight of a film, but I don't think that was the main cause for the anger about this movie being released.

I think it all has to do with feminism. Being a woman myself and knowing the struggles an average woman went through just to get respect throughout American history, I see why there NEEDS to be a feminism and feminist followers. Women are tired of being seen as weak or eye candy all of the time. Just because we were born with different anatomy doesn't make us lower than men. Besides, fun fact, I learned a few years ago that if it weren't for the Y sex chromosome, all babies would be female, therefore we could have had a race of only females and males wouldn't have even existed.

But I digress, feminists are people who strive to prove that women are just as important and equal to men, but sometimes SOME followers of feminism can take it a step too far.

They transform into the snake that they vowed to destroy, going from supporting equality for women to outright bragging that women are superior to men.

This is what many have feared from the new Ghostbusters. Having women be main characters is fine, but if they go down the route of constantly talking about how guys are terrible without any satire to it, it would turn out to be annoying to the audience to say the least.

So was the 2016's version of Ghostbusters a ploy to persuade people about how awful all men can be or did it play things subtle and present a movie that didn't stoop that low?

First off, I wouldn't exactly call this movie a sequel, despite what the official trailer may imply. This is more of a rendition of the original story. In this movie four people meet and team up to help get rid of ghosts that are mysteriously appearing around the city

The movie stars the four ghostbusters:

Erin (Kristen Wiig) the uptight hopeful who initially attempts to step away from believing in ghosts.

Abby (Melissa McCarthy) the nerd who has a passion for ghost research.

Jillian (Kate McKinnon) the blonde and quirky sidekick of Abby who whips up ghost catching inventions and Patty (Leslie Jones) the lively Subway worker who discovers ghost activity and joins the teams to save the city.

Each of these characters are unique at first glance, yet it felt like there was a lack of creativity being put into them. I'm sure that I've seen this set up before (not including the original ghostbusters) and I've seen it over and over again.

I attempt not to judge a film because their formula is familiar to other movies because everything has been done at this point, but I complain about it now because there was nothing to really defend this problem. Meaning that the characters weren't that interesting, given what they got.

They behaved unrealistically sometimes, especially during distressing or tense scenes. It was as if they treated the death of a character like it was just another Monday at work. It makes them come off as uncaring and oblivious to the serious problems at hand.

The bond between the foursome didn't feel strong enough either. The relationship between Erin and Abby in particular was lacking because the movie states that the pair were best friends and you learn they shared a long history and have had each other's backs for a while, but given the things we are shown on screen, it's rather difficult for me to believe any of it.

Jillian felt the most one-dimensional to me, being only an inventor and comic relief and stuck around just to be funny, leaving the audience little to no chance to really sink in the gravity of the situation. There's not much I can comment on Patty individually, so I suppose she wasn't the most bland. I won't complain too much about how the writers made the only main african-american character behave ghetto and loud. That stereotype is getting old, but to be fair, media has been showing more diverse african-american characters in terms of personality, so this is the least of this movie's problems.

One of the major issues I noticed straight away was this movie's pacing. I felt like most of the scenes were left unfinished, like the writers sent in their first draft and didn't bother to polish it up so the scenes can be filled with greater dialogue and so on.

For example, there is a moment where Erin reveals a sad part of her life right after a brief dance sequence and it felt so out of place. Why was she motivated to tell that secret to her colleagues? Why if this is a sentimental scene is it still being played for laughs with Jillian drinking loudly from a cup?

I understood its purpose and how it affected the story, but the execution felt very clunky.

Speaking of clunky, other characters I should address are the receptionist, Kevin (Chris Hemsworth) and the main villain. Starting with Kevin, he was supposed to be the charmingly dumb assistant of the ghostbusters, but he just comes off as completely stupid with no charm whatsoever.

The movie tries to excuse it by always having the characters around him bring up how attractive he is. The constant compliments about this guy, makes me think that his looks are the only thing that got him the job for the movie in the first place and they want the audience to appreciate how hot he is in those 'nerdy' glasses.

The cute but dumb stereotype could have been good, it's been executed well in the past. Hemsworth is a good actor after all, most notably known for playing Thor in the Thor (2011) and Avengers (2012) series, so I can only think that the directing was the cause of his downfall as well as the other characters.

As for the villain, I could tell that the actor was trying his best to pull off a mysterious evil villain vibe, but the story provided him nothing big to work with. He gives a small exposition about why he wants to hurt the town, but it sounds so typical you know you've heard it in many other movies before. The actor was decent, but I wished there was more value to his character.

Onwards to the biggest question that I mentioned in the beginning: Was this movie just a ploy to promote girls being better than boys? I think not, there was no sign of the females complaining about the male race or demeaning guys for just being themselves, although in the final scene with the villain, there is a part where the ghostbusters hit the villain in the crotch which came off very very cliche and ridiculous.

The action scenes were cool, it felt great to hear the ghostbusters theme rocking out in the background whilst Jillian fought off some ghosts. The effects were decent as well. I heard a lot of jokes about the ghost designs being horrible, but frankly, I don't see a problem with it. I was fascinated by the design and the bright colors. Besides, they're ghosts, wouldn't you want to see them all bright and just a little cartoony?

Ultimately, I found this movie to be pretty bland and this is thanks to the poor dialogue, weak attempt at gross out humor, one dimensional characters, confusing decision making, and scenes that just left me shaking my head in disapproval.

Thankfully, it's not a preachy film, but it's nothing very entertaining either until the end where all the ghosts showdown with the ghostbusters in the city. Until then, it's just one scene of awkward dialogue after another.

I give this movie a 2 out of 5 stars.

MY RESPONSE ON THE LESLIE JONES COMMENTS DRAMA

I'd like to make a comment about the issue with actress Leslie Jones and the disgusting comments that were made on her twitter account.

Many people started bullying Jones soon after this movie was released, saying needless racial slurs about her-some so grotesque, even the news reporters won't release them on television. No matter what I think about this movie, that does not dictate how I feel about this actress or any of the performers of this film. The people are separate from the story they are trying to tell, so saying that I didn't like the movie does not mean I do not like Leslie Jones.

No one deserves this much negativity for being an upcoming movie star, Jones is a beautiful young woman who has the potential to pursue many avenues of her career. She is a rising actress that will undoubtedly receive lots of hate throughout her life because of this; there will always be awful people spreading their hate when they lose enjoyment out of their own lives.

For Jones and others who are being bullied online (and/or in person), do not allow these people to chose whether you are happy or not. They highlight THEIR behavior, not YOURS. Usually when people try to hurt you, it's because they know you are happy.

Remember movies like Mean Girls or even Halloween, they have one thing in common: They have villains who want to see others suffer because they have suffered. Keep that in mind and never let them bring you to a point where you will have hate in your heart and become like them: a bully. Everything changes in a blink of an eye, one day you're in school, the next you're in the working world where everyone is far away from one another and forgets the chaos of school. It will be okay.

For those who have done things like the commenters who like to talk about people in such a harsh manner, if you're saying these things to be downright cruel: don't do it. If it doesn't benefit anyone, if it's not considered a joke that both parties can laugh about, don't post it.

Once you hit that send button, your words will forever be implanted into the internet. Even if you delete it, someone will remember it, someone will take a picture of it. Someone will know what you said and it will bite you hard in the future.

Something cool that the movie did was that they let the original ghostbusters return to give cameos, but something bad they did with that was how they used the cameo for Bill Murray. Murray is arguably the most notable ghostbuster in the original movie, and how do they fit him into the film? They make him play a jerk who doesn't believe in ghosts and dies as soon as he's shown. The reason why he died was pathetic too. It was all Erin's fault, she let out the ghost and killed him, yet when the police investigate what happens, she casually swoons over Patrick Swayze movies. What kind of heartless ghostbuster are you, Erin?

Speaking of Erin, her character was all over the place. So she is trying to get tenure at the school she works for, but after being posted on youtube by her 'friend' Abby, she gets fired, but she seems totally fine about the whole ordeal and confident that the ghostbusters job will be successful (even though no one believed ghosts were real at first). She seemed to be working on that tenure for years and when it was snatched away from her because of Abby, Erin should have been way more upset and have taken some time before she was happy being around the group. For a woman who was so determined to get her tenure, she sure got over it quick.

When Erin is wondering if they should name their team Ghostbusters, an alternative version of the ghostbusters theme plays right after it. Why play the theme if the group hasn't even decided to be called the ghostbusters? It's like Peter Parker trying to decide on his superhero name while the Spider Man theme song plays in the background.

How come Rowan doesn't know to blend in when he possess Abby? He has an idea that she doesn't act like he does, so why behave creepy in front of her friends? You're going to get caught!

The scene where Erin is looking at Rowan's drawings on how he will control the city is funny if you think about it. She's looking at cartoons while suspenseful music blasts in the background. If it wasn't funny the first time seeing it, look at it again. It might just be me, but that was the one scene that made me laugh a lot.

The piano that plays in the beginning of the ghostbusters trailer was heard in the movie. Don't believe me? Listen really closely when Rowan breaks the piano, it plays a very brief segment of the music before the piano is demolished. It was a pretty tone, I wish it went on longer. Maybe Rowan could have been playing it before he died to add a creepy effect, or he could have played it as a ghost too as the ghostbusters entered the room.

Why use Kevin's body to walk around when Rowan can clearly shape-shift into anything he wants that can have solid matter and touch things like a human could? I guess he used Kevin so some of the alternative trailers can have Chris Hemsworth looking like a sexy bad guy.

You know that lots of people died that night where all the ghosts and Rowan destroyed the city.
There had to be people who perished. Where are the news stories of the great ghost tragedy?

When Erin dived into the green hole to save Abby...that was the jumping the shark moment for me.

I wonder what the original ghostbusters thought of this movie...
