Franquicia de Los Cazafantasmas es una vez más en medios de comunicación populares, junto con muchas otras películas clásicas que fueron traídas de los muertos. Ha habido una gran oleada de secuelas, los reinicios y los beneficios indirectos de historias que crecimos aficionado en el pasado, incluido el hallazgo de Dory, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Ice Age 2, 3000 y así sucesivamente (la edad de hielo de 3000 es una broma).

Cuando llegó al renacimiento de la sci-fi/acción/comedia película Ghostbusters, hubo diferentes opiniones sobre lo que la gente espera de ella. Al parecer, existe una enorme indignación por el hecho de que esta nueva Ghostbusters se estrella cuatro mujeres en el lugar de cuatro hombres, pero nunca me pareció que para ser totalmente cierto. Seguro, puede haber personas que son sexistas y preferirían tener un hombre tomar el punto de mira de una película, pero creo que no era la principal causa de la ira acerca de esta película de ser liberado.

Creo que todo tiene que ver con el feminismo. Ser una mujer yo y conocer las luchas de una mujer promedio atravesó sólo para conseguir el respeto a lo largo de la historia estadounidense, no veo por qué tiene que haber un feminismo feminista y seguidores. Las mujeres están cansados de ser vistos como débiles o los ojos dulces todo el tiempo. Sólo porque hemos nacido con anatomía diferente no nos hace ser inferiores a los de los hombres. Además, la diversión hecho, aprendí hace unos años que si no fuera por la Y cromosoma sexual, todos los bebés sería hembra, por lo tanto, podríamos haber tenido una carrera sólo de hembras y machos que no habría ni siquiera existía.

Pero estoy divagando, las feministas son personas que se esfuerzan por demostrar que las mujeres son tan importantes e iguales a los hombres, pero a veces algunos seguidores del feminismo puede tomar un paso demasiado lejos.

Se transforman en la serpiente que juraron destruir, va desde el apoyo a la igualdad de la mujer hasta la franca alardear que las mujeres son superiores a los hombres.

Esto es lo que muchos han temido desde los nuevos Cazafantasmas. Que las mujeres sean protagonistas está muy bien, pero si van por el camino de hablar constantemente de cómo los chicos son terribles sin sátira, resultaría molesto a la audiencia para decir lo menos.

Así fue el 2016's versión de Ghostbusters una estratagema para convencer a la gente sobre cómo horrible todos los hombres pueden ser o no jugar cosas sutiles y presentar una película que no rebajará que baja?

Cada uno de estos caracteres son únicos a primera vista, pero sentí que había una falta de creatividad que se puso en ellas. Estoy seguro de que he visto esto antes (no incluyendo los Cazafantasmas original) y he visto una y otra vez.

Yo intento no juzgar una película porque su fórmula es conocida por otras películas porque todo ha sido hecho en este punto, pero me quejo ahora porque no había nada que realmente defender este problema. Lo que significa que los caracteres no eran tan interesantes, dado lo que ya tengo.

Se comportaban a veces poco realistas, especialmente durante escenas perturbadoras o tenso. Era como si se trata de la muerte de un personaje como era simplemente otro lunes en el trabajo. Les hace salir como indiferente y ajeno a los graves problemas en la mano.

El vínculo entre el cuarteto no se sienten lo suficientemente fuerte. La relación entre Erin y Abby en particular porque faltaba la película afirma que la pareja eran mejores amigos y aprendes comparten una larga historia y han tenido mutuamente las espaldas por un rato, pero dadas las cosas se nos muestra en pantalla, es bastante difícil para mí creer nada de él.

Jillian sintió el más unidimensional para mí, sólo es un inventor y Comic Relief y atascado alrededor sólo para ser gracioso, dejando al público poca o ninguna oportunidad para realmente hundirse en la gravedad de la situación. No hay mucho que puedo comentar Patty individualmente, por lo que supongo que no fue de lo más soso. No me quejo demasiado acerca de cómo los escritores hicieron el principal sólo carácter africano-americanos se comportan de ghetto y ruidoso. Ese estereotipo está envejeciendo, pero para ser justos, los medios de comunicación ha venido mostrando más diversos caracteres africano-americanos en términos de personalidad, así que este es el menor de los problemas de esta película.

Una de las cuestiones principales que noté de inmediato fue esta película del marcapasos. Me sentía como la mayoría de las escenas quedaron inconclusas, escritores como enviados en su primer proyecto y no se molestó en perfeccionarlo así las escenas puede llenarse con un mayor diálogo y así sucesivamente.

He entendido su finalidad y cómo afecta a la historia, pero la ejecución se sentían muy incómodos.

Hablando de los incómodos, otros caracteres que se deben abordar son la recepcionista, Kevin (Chris Hemsworth) y el villano principal. Comenzando con Kevin, iba a ser la encantadora ayudante mudo de los cazafantasmas, pero él sólo sale como completamente estúpido sin encanto alguno.

La película intenta excusar por tener siempre los caracteres alrededor de él traer lo atractivo que es. Los constantes elogios sobre este hombre, me hace pensar que sus miradas son la única cosa que le conseguí el trabajo para la película en el primer lugar y quieren la audiencia para apreciar cuán caliente está en aquellos "nerdy gafas".

El lindo pero tonto estereotipo podría haber sido buena, que se ha ejecutado con éxito en el pasado. Hemsworth es un buen actor, después de todo, principalmente conocido por jugar Thor Thor en los vengadores (2011) y (2012) series, por lo que sólo puedo pensar que la dirección era la causa de su caída, así como el resto de caracteres.

En cuanto a la villana, yo podría decir que el actor estaba haciendo lo mejor para tirar un misterioso malvado villano vibe, pero la historia le ofrecieron nada grande para trabajar. El nos da una pequeña exposición sobre por qué él quiere hacerle daño al pueblo, pero suena tan típica sabes que has escuchado en muchas otras películas antes. El actor era decente, pero yo deseaba era más valor a su carácter.

En adelante a la principal pregunta que mencioné al principio: esta película era sólo una estratagema para promover las niñas están mejor que los niños? Creo que no, no hay ningún indicio de las mujeres se quejan de la raza macho o humillar chicos para ser justo en sí, aunque en la escena final con el villano, hay una parte donde los cazafantasmas golpeó el villano en la entrepierna que salió muy cliche y ridículo.

Las escenas de acción eran frescas, me sentí genial para escuchar el tema de los cazafantasmas mecer en el fondo mientras que Jillian luchó contra algunos fantasmas. Los efectos eran decentes. He escuchado un montón de chistes acerca del fantasma diseños siendo horrible, pero, francamente, no veo un problema con él. Yo estaba fascinado por el diseño y los colores brillantes. Además, están los fantasmas, ¿no desea verlas todas luminosas y un poco de dibujos animados?

Finalmente, he encontrado esta película a ser bastante soso y esto es gracias al diálogo pobre, débil intento de gross fuera humor, personajes unidimensionales, confundiendo la toma de decisiones, y escenas que sólo me dejó de sacudir la cabeza en desaprobación.

Afortunadamente, no es una película preachy, pero no es nada muy entretenido hasta el final donde todos los fantasmas showdown con los cazafantasmas en la ciudad. Hasta entonces, es simplemente una escena de diálogo incómodo tras otro.

MI REPUESTA EN EL LESLIE JONES DRAMA COMENTARIOS

Me gustaría hacer un comentario sobre el tema con la actriz Leslie Jones y la repugnante comentarios que se hicieron en su cuenta de twitter.

Muchas personas comenzaron a intimidación Jones poco después de esta película fue liberado, diciendo huelga insultos raciales acerca de ella, algunos tan grotesca, incluso los reporteros no liberarlos en la televisión. No importa lo que pienso acerca de esta película, que no dicta cómo me siento sobre esta actriz o cualquiera de los intérpretes de esta película. Las personas están separadas de la historia están tratando de decirle, por lo que decir que no me gustó la película no significa que no me gusta Leslie Jones.

Nadie se merece tanta negatividad para ser la próxima estrella del cine, Jones es una joven y bella mujer que tiene el potencial de aplicar muchas avenidas de su carrera. Todo cambia en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, un día estás en la escuela, el próximo estás en el mundo del trabajo, donde todo el mundo está muy lejos el uno del otro y se olvida el caos de la escuela. Ella va a estar bien.

Para aquellos que han hecho cosas como los comentaristas que les gusta hablar acerca de la gente en esa dureza, si estás diciendo estas cosas para ser honesto cruel: no lo hagan. Si no beneficia a nadie, si esto no es considerado una broma que ambas partes pueden reír, no publicarla.

Una vez que pulse el botón Enviar que, tus palabras serán siempre implantado en la internet. Incluso si lo elimina, alguien la recuerde, alguien va a tomar una foto de ella. Alguien sabe lo que dice y se muerde el disco en el futuro.

Algo fresco que la película hizo fue que los Cazafantasmas original volver a dar cameos, pero algo malo que hizo con que fue cómo utilizaron el cameo de Bill Murray. Murray es posiblemente el más notable ghostbuster en la película original, y cómo se ajustan a él en la película? Le hacen jugar un idiota que no cree en los fantasmas y muere tan pronto como se muestra. La razón por la que murió era demasiado patético. Todo era culpa de Erin, dejó que fuera el fantasma y lo mataron, pero cuando la policía investigar qué sucede, ella casualmente swoons sobre Patrick Swayze películas. ¿Qué tipo de desalmados ghostbuster eres, Erin?

Hablando de Erin, su personaje era todo el lugar. The Ghostbusters franchise is once again in popular media, along with many other classic movies that were brought back from the dead. There has been a big surge of sequels, reboots and spinoffs of stories that we grew fond of in the past, including Finding Dory, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, Ice Age 3000 and so forth (The Ice Age 3000 is a joke).

When it came to the rebirth of the sci-fi/action/comedy movie Ghostbusters, there were mixed opinions on what people expected of it. Apparently, there was a huge outrage over the fact that this new Ghostbusters would star four women instead of four men, but I never found that to be entirely true. Sure, there can be people who are sexist and would rather have a man take the spotlight of a film, but I don't think that was the main cause for the anger about this movie being released.

I think it all has to do with feminism. Being a woman myself and knowing the struggles an average woman went through just to get respect throughout American history, I see why there NEEDS to be a feminism and feminist followers. Women are tired of being seen as weak or eye candy all of the time. Just because we were born with different anatomy doesn't make us lower than men. Besides, fun fact, I learned a few years ago that if it weren't for the Y sex chromosome, all babies would be female, therefore we could have had a race of only females and males wouldn't have even existed.

But I digress, feminists are people who strive to prove that women are just as important and equal to men, but sometimes SOME followers of feminism can take it a step too far.

They transform into the snake that they vowed to destroy, going from supporting equality for women to outright bragging that women are superior to men.

This is what many have feared from the new Ghostbusters. Having women be main characters is fine, but if they go down the route of constantly talking about how guys are terrible without any satire to it, it would turn out to be annoying to the audience to say the least.

So was the 2016's version of Ghostbusters a ploy to persuade people about how awful all men can be or did it play things subtle and present a movie that didn't stoop that low?

First off, I wouldn't exactly call this movie a sequel, despite what the official trailer may imply. This is more of a rendition of the original story. In this movie four people meet and team up to help get rid of ghosts that are mysteriously appearing around the city

The movie stars the four ghostbusters:

Erin (Kristen Wiig) the uptight hopeful who initially attempts to step away from believing in ghosts.

Abby (Melissa McCarthy) the nerd who has a passion for ghost research.

Jillian (Kate McKinnon) the blonde and quirky sidekick of Abby who whips up ghost catching inventions and Patty (Leslie Jones) the lively Subway worker who discovers ghost activity and joins the teams to save the city.

Each of these characters are unique at first glance, yet it felt like there was a lack of creativity being put into them. I'm sure that I've seen this set up before (not including the original ghostbusters) and I've seen it over and over again.

I attempt not to judge a film because their formula is familiar to other movies because everything has been done at this point, but I complain about it now because there was nothing to really defend this problem. Meaning that the characters weren't that interesting, given what they got.

They behaved unrealistically sometimes, especially during distressing or tense scenes. It was as if they treated the death of a character like it was just another Monday at work. It makes them come off as uncaring and oblivious to the serious problems at hand.

The bond between the foursome didn't feel strong enough either. The relationship between Erin and Abby in particular was lacking because the movie states that the pair were best friends and you learn they shared a long history and have had each other's backs for a while, but given the things we are shown on screen, it's rather difficult for me to believe any of it.

Jillian felt the most one-dimensional to me, being only an inventor and comic relief and stuck around just to be funny, leaving the audience little to no chance to really sink in the gravity of the situation. There's not much I can comment on Patty individually, so I suppose she wasn't the most bland. I won't complain too much about how the writers made the only main african-american character behave ghetto and loud. That stereotype is getting old, but to be fair, media has been showing more diverse african-american characters in terms of personality, so this is the least of this movie's problems.

One of the major issues I noticed straight away was this movie's pacing. I felt like most of the scenes were left unfinished, like the writers sent in their first draft and didn't bother to polish it up so the scenes can be filled with greater dialogue and so on.

For example, there is a moment where Erin reveals a sad part of her life right after a brief dance sequence and it felt so out of place. Why was she motivated to tell that secret to her colleagues? Why if this is a sentimental scene is it still being played for laughs with Jillian drinking loudly from a cup?

I understood its purpose and how it affected the story, but the execution felt very clunky.

Speaking of clunky, other characters I should address are the receptionist, Kevin (Chris Hemsworth) and the main villain. Starting with Kevin, he was supposed to be the charmingly dumb assistant of the ghostbusters, but he just comes off as completely stupid with no charm whatsoever.

The movie tries to excuse it by always having the characters around him bring up how attractive he is. The constant compliments about this guy, makes me think that his looks are the only thing that got him the job for the movie in the first place and they want the audience to appreciate how hot he is in those 'nerdy' glasses.

The cute but dumb stereotype could have been good, it's been executed well in the past. Hemsworth is a good actor after all, most notably known for playing Thor in the Thor (2011) and Avengers (2012) series, so I can only think that the directing was the cause of his downfall as well as the other characters.

As for the villain, I could tell that the actor was trying his best to pull off a mysterious evil villain vibe, but the story provided him nothing big to work with. He gives a small exposition about why he wants to hurt the town, but it sounds so typical you know you've heard it in many other movies before. The actor was decent, but I wished there was more value to his character.

Onwards to the biggest question that I mentioned in the beginning: Was this movie just a ploy to promote girls being better than boys? I think not, there was no sign of the females complaining about the male race or demeaning guys for just being themselves, although in the final scene with the villain, there is a part where the ghostbusters hit the villain in the crotch which came off very very cliche and ridiculous.

The action scenes were cool, it felt great to hear the ghostbusters theme rocking out in the background whilst Jillian fought off some ghosts. The effects were decent as well. I heard a lot of jokes about the ghost designs being horrible, but frankly, I don't see a problem with it. I was fascinated by the design and the bright colors. Besides, they're ghosts, wouldn't you want to see them all bright and just a little cartoony?

Ultimately, I found this movie to be pretty bland and this is thanks to the poor dialogue, weak attempt at gross out humor, one dimensional characters, confusing decision making, and scenes that just left me shaking my head in disapproval.

Thankfully, it's not a preachy film, but it's nothing very entertaining either until the end where all the ghosts showdown with the ghostbusters in the city. Until then, it's just one scene of awkward dialogue after another.

I give this movie a 2 out of 5 stars.

MY RESPONSE ON THE LESLIE JONES COMMENTS DRAMA

I'd like to make a comment about the issue with actress Leslie Jones and the disgusting comments that were made on her twitter account.

Many people started bullying Jones soon after this movie was released, saying needless racial slurs about her-some so grotesque, even the news reporters won't release them on television. No matter what I think about this movie, that does not dictate how I feel about this actress or any of the performers of this film. The people are separate from the story they are trying to tell, so saying that I didn't like the movie does not mean I do not like Leslie Jones.

No one deserves this much negativity for being an upcoming movie star, Jones is a beautiful young woman who has the potential to pursue many avenues of her career. She is a rising actress that will undoubtedly receive lots of hate throughout her life because of this; there will always be awful people spreading their hate when they lose enjoyment out of their own lives.

For Jones and others who are being bullied online (and/or in person), do not allow these people to chose whether you are happy or not. They highlight THEIR behavior, not YOURS. Usually when people try to hurt you, it's because they know you are happy.

Remember movies like Mean Girls or even Halloween, they have one thing in common: They have villains who want to see others suffer because they have suffered. Keep that in mind and never let them bring you to a point where you will have hate in your heart and become like them: a bully. Everything changes in a blink of an eye, one day you're in school, the next you're in the working world where everyone is far away from one another and forgets the chaos of school. It will be okay.

For those who have done things like the commenters who like to talk about people in such a harsh manner, if you're saying these things to be downright cruel: don't do it. If it doesn't benefit anyone, if it's not considered a joke that both parties can laugh about, don't post it.

Once you hit that send button, your words will forever be implanted into the internet. Even if you delete it, someone will remember it, someone will take a picture of it. Someone will know what you said and it will bite you hard in the future.

Something cool that the movie did was that they let the original ghostbusters return to give cameos, but something bad they did with that was how they used the cameo for Bill Murray. Murray is arguably the most notable ghostbuster in the original movie, and how do they fit him into the film? They make him play a jerk who doesn't believe in ghosts and dies as soon as he's shown. The reason why he died was pathetic too. It was all Erin's fault, she let out the ghost and killed him, yet when the police investigate what happens, she casually swoons over Patrick Swayze movies. What kind of heartless ghostbuster are you, Erin?

Speaking of Erin, her character was all over the place. So she is trying to get tenure at the school she works for, but after being posted on youtube by her 'friend' Abby, she gets fired, but she seems totally fine about the whole ordeal and confident that the ghostbusters job will be successful (even though no one believed ghosts were real at first). She seemed to be working on that tenure for years and when it was snatched away from her because of Abby, Erin should have been way more upset and have taken some time before she was happy being around the group. For a woman who was so determined to get her tenure, she sure got over it quick.

When Erin is wondering if they should name their team Ghostbusters, an alternative version of the ghostbusters theme plays right after it. Why play the theme if the group hasn't even decided to be called the ghostbusters? It's like Peter Parker trying to decide on his superhero name while the Spider Man theme song plays in the background.

How come Rowan doesn't know to blend in when he possess Abby? He has an idea that she doesn't act like he does, so why behave creepy in front of her friends? You're going to get caught!

The scene where Erin is looking at Rowan's drawings on how he will control the city is funny if you think about it. She's looking at cartoons while suspenseful music blasts in the background. If it wasn't funny the first time seeing it, look at it again. It might just be me, but that was the one scene that made me laugh a lot.

The piano that plays in the beginning of the ghostbusters trailer was heard in the movie. Don't believe me? Listen really closely when Rowan breaks the piano, it plays a very brief segment of the music before the piano is demolished. It was a pretty tone, I wish it went on longer. Maybe Rowan could have been playing it before he died to add a creepy effect, or he could have played it as a ghost too as the ghostbusters entered the room.

Why use Kevin's body to walk around when Rowan can clearly shape-shift into anything he wants that can have solid matter and touch things like a human could? I guess he used Kevin so some of the alternative trailers can have Chris Hemsworth looking like a sexy bad guy.

You know that lots of people died that night where all the ghosts and Rowan destroyed the city.
There had to be people who perished. Where are the news stories of the great ghost tragedy?

When Erin dived into the green hole to save Abby...that was the jumping the shark moment for me.

I wonder what the original ghostbusters thought of this movie...

La ciencia-ficción o drama Circle es un gran grupo de extraños atrapados en un misterioso lugar donde sus únicas opciones son para votar sobre una persona para matar a cada minuto. En todo esto, todo el mundo está constantemente juzgando a quienes les rodean, averiguar quién debe ser, en última instancia, la última persona deja con vida al final de este juego sádico. El resumen de la película me recuerda a una película que he visto hace años pidió nueve muertos (2009). Tenía rasgos similares al Círculo en lo que respecta al modo aleatorio de personas de diferentes orígenes y las historias se quedan en una habitación extraña. Ambos tienen personajes que intentan resolver el misterio de cómo llegaron donde están mientras tratamos con aterradores desafíos, pero a diferencia de nueve muertos me sentí como esta película me dejó en aún más misterio al final de una mala manera.

El concepto era interesante y cómo los personajes deciden matar a alguien era aún más fascinante. Ellos cambian de uno a otro tema importante para determinar su decisión final sobre quién debe morir y algunos de estos temas son los conflictos reales, podemos enfrentar en la vida real incluyendo:

¿Quién es más digno de vivir?
Definimos hacer vale la pena simplemente sobre la base de la edad?
Es alguien más adecuado para morir si no tienen familia a su nombre?
Es derecho de repuesto de la muerte de alguien porque tiene hijos?
Es malo hacer daño a un niño si no significa que usted tiene una mejor oportunidad de vivir?

Todos estos y más son temas delicados que suelen venir en tiempos de desesperación, y con estos personajes, que fueron definitivamente en una posición difícil y podemos llegar a presenciar algunos de ellos decir o hacer cosas que de otra manera no sería actuar.

Sin embargo, a pesar de todo ello, dado que la película comienza con 50 caracteres y sólo se dio un minuto para decidir quién es el próximo que vaya, le da a la audiencia poco o ningún tiempo para realmente aprender acerca de ellos. Esto incluye los caracteres que resultan ser más importantes centarse en que otros.

Como el círculo de personas con disminución, yo tampoco pudo recordar qué persona tenía lo backstory o no me importaba lo suficiente como para estar preocupados por su bienestar.

Los personajes de esta película son diversos, pero se celebró sin ningún valor para mí. Este problema viene también del hecho de que algunos de los actores eran ínfimas para irrisoriamente horrible. Me di cuenta de esto más en las mujeres, específicamente con una mujer rubia casada y una niña. Cuando estaban en peligro o se sintió miedo (que consistía básicamente en la mayoría de las películas), parecía que estaban forzando una sonrisa extendiéndose por su cara en lugar de llorar. La dirección de la niña fue especialmente malo porque ella no se comporte como un niño.

No me importa si un chico dice ser valientes o no llorar con facilidad a las cosas, en el segundo, el niño sabía lo que estaba pasando entre todos los demás, ella habría sido gritando, rogando, o incluso intenta escapar de la situación. Una pareja de adultos no sólo eso, ¿cómo sería esa niña que no cunda el pánico a la vista de que el caos? Cómo ella puede ser capaz de soportar con paciencia y en silencio donde estaba ella?

Recuerdo sin saber siquiera había un niño en esta película hasta unos...20 minutos, creo. Ella no dijo nada en absoluto en el comienzo y sólo hablaba muy poco en la totalidad de la película. Si su actuación fue mejor, quizás habría que esta diapositiva, pero a mí me parecía que ella era un ejemplo de un carácter secundario poco realistas.

El misterio detrás de por qué los personajes se encuentran en esta situación también se abordó, entre ellos; pero no parecía resuelto. Las víctimas de esta historia express que piensan los extranjeros secuestrados y están tratando de ver cómo los seres humanos elegir quién es digno, pero no hay confirmación de esto. Estas opiniones y no quedarse como hechos lo hizo realmente extranjeros capturarlos para este fin? Yo no estaba seguro.

La atmósfera de la configuración es oscuro, a veces, demasiado oscura para ver algunos caracteres claramente, pero otra cosa es una espeluznante ajuste y sin embargo uno eficaz que despide un aura tensa. Una vez que el temporizador de cuenta atrás, dispuesto a matar a la persona más votado fuera de existencia, es casi tan aterrador presenciando como la gente perdurable. CASI.

Al final, el círculo es una película con un gran potencial, pero carece de buenos actores y hojas con un montón de preguntas de la peor forma. Aún así, si estás teniendo un día lento y no tienen nada mejor que hacer, vea esta película tensa y tratar de adivinar quién será la única sobreviviente. 

Les daré esta película 2 1/2 de 5 estrellas.

Es curioso cómo mataron a ese hombre blanco con el pelo marrón oscuro tan rápido. Quien estaba tratando de organizar las cosas y sugirió que la gente cuente sus historias. Pensé que haría a la final 5 por lo menos.

Por supuesto que jugar la carta racial en esta película. Por supuesto!

Sólo porque el chico grande con el sombrero habla español y español solamente, él merece morir? Sé que más tarde preguntando si él es un ciudadano legal, pero algunas personas accedieron a matarlo antes de poner esto en marcha.

Me sorprendió esta película realmente tuvo las agallas para siquiera sugerir para matar al niño y la mujer embarazada. Ni siquiera pude ponerme a decir que no me gusta la gente que piensa matarlos estaba bien, todo el mundo quiere vivir y fueron encontrar una estrategia para hacer precisamente eso. Como les decía, todo el mundo es de igual valor.

Bueno, ¿por qué fue el último hombre de pie y la mujer embarazada tiene el niño por nacer en un empate? ¿...el niño no mueren cuando su madre murió? Así obviamente, pero...¿cómo?

Yo, literalmente, no recuerdo haber visto el macho sobreviviente en la película y no recuerdo su historia, por lo que sentía al azar y fuera de lugar. Fue que a propósito, o él era realmente ese olvidadizo?

Circle (2015)

The science-fiction/drama Circle is about a large group of strangers trapped in a mysterious place where their only options are to vote on one person to kill every minute. Throughout this, everyone is constantly judging those around them, figuring out who should ultimately be the last person left alive at the end of this sadistic game. 

The movie summary reminded me of a film I watched years ago called Nine Dead (2009). It had similar traits to Circle in regards to how random people of different backgrounds are left in a strange room. Both have characters who attempt to solve the mystery of how they got where they are while dealing with terrifying challenges, but unlike Nine Dead I felt like this film left me in even further mystery by the end, in a bad way. 

The concept was interesting and how the characters decide to kill somebody was even more fascinating. They switch from one major topic to another to determine their final decision on who must die and some of these topics are actual conflicts we can face in real life including: 

What kind of person is worthy to live? 

Do we define worth simply based on age? 

Is someone more suited to die if they have no family to their name? 

Is it right to spare someone of death because they have children? 

Is it wrong to harm a child if it means you have a better chance at living? 

All of these and more are sensitive topics that usually come up through times of desperation, and with these characters, they were definitely in a tough position and we get to witness some of them do or say things that they would otherwise not act upon.

Yet despite all of that, given that the movie starts off with FIFTY characters and they are only given a minute to decide who is the next to go, it gives the audience little to no time to truly learn about them-this includes the characters that turn out to be more important to focus on than others later on.

As the circle of people decreased, I either couldn't remember which person had what backstory or I didn't care enough to be concerned for their well-being. 

The characters in this movie are diverse, but they held no value to me. This issue comes also from the fact that some of the actors were subpar to laughably horrible. I noticed this more in the females, specifically with a married blonde woman and a little girl. Whenever they were in danger or felt scared (which was basically most of the movie), it looked like they were forcing a grin to spread across their face rather than cry. The directing for the little girl was especially bad since she didn't behave like a child. 

I don't care if a kid claims to be brave or doesn't cry easily to things, the second the child knew what she was going through amongst everyone else, she would have been screaming, pleading, or even try to run away from the situation. A couple of adults did just that, how would this little girl not panic at the sight of that chaos? How can she be able to stand patiently and quietly where she was?

I remember not even knowing there was a child in this movie until about...20 minutes in, I believe. She said nothing at all in the beginning and only spoke very few in the entirety of the movie. If her acting was better, maybe I would have let this slide, but to me, it seemed like she was an example of an unrealistic child character. 

The mystery behind why the characters are in this situation is also addressed among them; but it didn't feel resolved. The victims of this story express that they think aliens kidnapped them and are trying to see how humans choose who is worthy, yet there is no confirmation of this. These stay as opinions and not facts so did aliens really capture them for this purpose? I wasn't sure. 

The atmosphere of the setting is dark, sometimes too dark to see some characters clearly but otherwise it's an eerie setting nonetheless and an effective one that gives off a tense aura. Once the timer counts down, ready to kill the most voted person out of existence, it's almost just as scary witnessing it as the people enduring it. ALMOST.

In the end, Circle is a movie with great potential but lacks good actors and leaves with a lot of questions in the worst way. Still, if you are having a slow day and have nothing better to do, watch this tense film and try to guess who will be the lone survivor. 

I'll give this movie 2 1/2 out of 5 stars.

It was funny how they killed that white guy with the dark brown hair so quick. The one who was trying to organize things and suggested that people tell their stories. I thought he'd make it to the final 5 at least.

Of course they play the race card in this movie. Of course!

Just because the big guy with the hat speaks Spanish and only Spanish, he deserves to die? I know they later ask if he is a legal citizen, but some people agreed to kill him before bringing that up.

I was surprised this movie actually had the guts to even suggest to kill the kid and the pregnant woman. I couldn't even bring myself to say that I didn't like the people who thought killing them was okay, everyone wants to live and they were finding a strategy to do just that. Like they said, everyone is of equal value.

Okay, why was the last guy standing and the pregnant woman's unborn child in a tie? Did...the child NOT die when its mother died? Obviously so, but...how?

I literally don't remember seeing the male survivor in the movie and I don't remember his story, so he felt random and out of place. Was that on purpose, or was he really that forgetful?

La Vida Secreta de Mascotas (2016)

Viendo el trailer de esta película, me topé con mediocres expectativas. No me imagino la vida secreta de mascotas para ser una película terrible, pero yo no creo que pudiera ser tan memorable como otras películas como Disney's congelados. Viendo el trailer innumerables veces, estaba a unos enfermos de ver que el desquiciado Kevin Hart Bunny y el rock-and-roll poodle fastidiando su casa. Independientemente, he visto la película, con la esperanza de que la vida secreta de las mascotas se convertiría en una agradable sorpresa.

Sería el nuevo kid's film clásico o en lugar de ser un derroche de animación y de tiempo?

La historia fue como sigue: ¿Qué hacer cuando sus dueños de mascotas están lejos. Sin embargo, esto no era exactamente la trama principal a la vida secreta de las mascotas. El problema de la película centrada en torno a la travesía de un poco de marrón y blanco terrier llamada Max y su nuevo y grande y rebelde "hermano", Duke. Después los dos crecer la animosidad hacia los demás, la pareja se meten en una serie de aventuras salvajes que se traduce en ganar algunos enemigos y tener a sus amigos tratando de salvar a ellos.

Algo que noté de la historia fue que era muy corto. Una hora y 38 minutos pasaron, sin embargo, parecía sólo una hora para mí. Me sorprendió cómo las cosas envuelto tan amablemente al final de los caracteres, y según su opinión, esta puede ser una buena o una mala cosa a hacer para este tipo de película.

No puedo pensar en un par de pros y contras que puede venir de una película que es este corto. A partir de los negativos, hay poco o ningún desarrollo. No creo que ningún personaje se fue a través de cualquier cambio de los personajes principales, con la excepción de Duke, pero incluso entonces se siente que no se pegue con él en la final. Se nos ha dado una escena de su angustia, pero después le parece completamente bien y no confiar en nadie acerca de su dolor. Sin grandes spoilers, lo que pasa es algo que si su mascota o un ser humano, es bastante desolador cosas, y sin embargo, la película ignora que tan pronto como su dirigida.

Otra desventaja es simple: no hay nada más a esta película. Un simple persecución en todo Nueva York con extravagantes payasadas. Podemos saber más acerca de cómo el propietario de Max y Duke, Katie es igual? Podemos obtener una visión más profunda de por qué le gusta Gidget Max? Podemos tener una idea de por qué el conejo Snowball es rápidamente a gusto con su resultado en la historia?!

A pesar de mis quejas, esto me lleva a los aspectos positivos de la película que es... ¿realmente necesitamos toda esa información? Es necesario hacer una película que profundiza en las motivaciones detrás de personajes?

Para algunas películas, que es obligatoria, sino para la vida secreta de las mascotas, creo que tiene una excusa. Aunque podría utilizar un poco de empuje en el desarrollo de los personajes, el producto final es pasable y estoy seguro que no muchos se quejan de ella. Supongo que esta película no es necesario que nos diga por qué los animales se comportan de la manera en que lo hacen, porque saben que los niños son lo suficientemente maduros para entenderlo. No necesita ser arrojada en su cara y yo respeto eso.

Fue breve, pero también fue divertido por las razones correctas. Cada uno de los personajes tenía una personalidad fuerte y llevado a cabo por lo menos una buena risa de la audiencia. El humor es un poco anticuado (por ejemplo, hablando de youtube), pero no creo que mucho de lo que se consiguió molesto. Sólo hay una broma pis y un par de escenas donde los animales están sacudiendo su culo; muchos de ellos se están enfermando de estos chistes en las películas de niños, pero no hay un montón de ellos, así que me daría a esos un pase demasiado.

Él sabía cuándo ser rápido y tomar es lenta, por lo que no siempre fue el ruido constante. Los animadores deben también ha destinado para su arte a un aspecto muy adorable, porque lograron que los animales tienen un aspecto casi inofensivas y proporcionar ese efecto sorprendente cuando se iría de lindo a francamente crueles.

Además, una historia como esta no necesita en realidad para ir más de su tiempo de ejecución. Contó su historia y atados los cabos sueltos. Eso es todo lo que realmente necesita y estoy satisfecha de que los escritores no forzar la Historia para ir y nos deje con demasiado relleno inútiles.

En última instancia, no hay mucho que decir acerca de esta película. Creo que es una bonita historia, pero de nuevo, si es que había un poco más de empuje en el desarrollo del carácter, creo que podría ser mejor. Pero como es, aún no es malo. No se trata solamente de...WOW! Yo diría que tres de cinco estrellas.

Posdata: Hay un esbirro corto antes de la película comienza. Fue todo correcto, justo lo que usted esperaría de los esbirros. Locura salvaje con un toque de fastidio.

Es sólo conmigo, ni hizo esta película tiene un montón de casos en que sonaba como un personaje iba a decir, "mierda"? Yo tenía cerca de un ataque al corazón durante la escena donde Tiberio llamó a Gidget y dijo, "estoy justo aquí en este galpón..." Si ellos no muestran el galpón, yo hubiera jurado que él dijo, "mierda" y yo le he preguntado cómo en el mundo que les gustaría permitir una maldición palabra en una película PG.

Tengo gusto de quería Gidget y Tiberius juntos, tenían más química (incluso si no comenzar con Tiberio tratando de comer) que Gidget Gidget y Max. Max sólo notó que ella después de que ella pateó culo en el puente, así que antes de que él no tenía ninguna atención a ella. Quiero decir, otros animales hizo mucho para intentar salvar a él, lo que hace especial a Gidget Max ahora? Lo sé, él dice que es consciente de todas las veces que ella se preocupaba por él, pero todavía suena...bueno, yo apoyo las relaciones entre especies.

Ese cerdo que tenía todos los tatuajes en su cuerpo...eso es tan cruel. No hacer realidad ese derecho?

Ricky chistes eran un poco excesivo, pero todos ellos fueron un éxito. Yo agrietado en todos ellos.

Me sorprendió cómo Duke's antiguo propietario falleció y aún más en la forma en que se manejan. De modo que el gato en el Duke's casa vieja dice que su propietario falleció, Duke freaks fuera...y entonces qué? Él pronto vuelve a su viejo auto. Cosas como que cambia por un rato, ¿cómo puede ser totalmente feliz siendo Duke con su nuevo propietario si no ha tenido tiempo para afligirse por su antigua?

Al principio yo estaba tan confundido en cuanto a por qué Snowball estaba aceptando rápidamente de ser una mascota para una niña, pero luego pensé que él quería ser amado todo el tiempo. Sería una pregunta más, ¿dónde están los padres de la niña? Ella ha preguntado a su mamá a conseguir su bola de nieve (y sus amigos) como mascotas, pero la madre no aparece. Estoy un poco sorprendido Snowball estuvimos con ella, los padres lo tenemos él marcada por enfermedades.

Watching the trailer to this movie, I came up with mediocre expectations. I didn't imagine The Secret Life of Pets to be a terrible movie, but I didn't think it'd be as memorable as other movies such as Disney's Frozen either. Watching the trailer countless times, I was about sick of seeing that maniacal Kevin Hart bunny and that rock-and-roll poodle trashing his home. Regardless, I watched the movie in hopes that The Secret Life of Pets would become a pleasant surprise.

Would it be the new kid's classic film or instead be a waste of animation and time?

The story was as followed: What pets do when their owners are away. However, this wasn't exactly the main plot to The Secret Life of Pets. The problem of the movie centered around the journey of a little brown and white terrier named Max and his new large and unruly "brother," Duke. After the two grow animosity towards each other, the pair get themselves in a series of wild adventures that results in them gaining some enemies and having their friends trying to save them.

Something I noticed about the story was that it was really short. An hour and 38 minutes passed, yet it felt like only an hour to me. I was surprised at how things wrapped up so nicely at the end for the characters, and depending on your opinion, this can either be a really good or bad thing to do for this type of movie.

I can think of a couple pros and cons that can come out of a film that is this short. Starting for the negatives, there's little to no development. I do not believe any character went through any major character change, with the exception of Duke, but even then it feels like it doesn't stick with him in the end. We are given one scene of his anguish, but afterwards he seems completely fine and doesn't confide in anyone about his pain. Without major spoilers, what he goes through is something that whether your a pet or a human, is some pretty heartbreaking stuff, and yet the film disregards it as soon as its addressed.

Another con is simple: there's nothing more to this movie. Just a simple chase around New York with wacky antics. Can we know more about how Max and Duke's owner, Katie is like? Can we get a deeper insight into why Gidget likes Max? Can we get an idea of why Snowball the rabbit is quickly at ease with his outcome in the story?!

Despite my complaints, this leads me into the positives of the movie which is....do we really need all that information? Is it necessary to make a movie that delves into the motivations behind characters?

For some movies, that is mandatory, but for The Secret Life of Pets, I think it has an excuse. Though it could use a little push on the character development, the final product is passable and I'm sure not many will complain about it. I suppose this film doesn't need to tell us why the pets behave the way they do, because they know children are mature enough to understand it. It doesn't need to be thrown in their face and I respect that.

It was short, but it was also entertaining for the right reasons. Each characters had a strong personality and brought out at least one good laugh out of the audience. The humor is a little dated (e.g talking about youtube), but I don't think they did that so much that it got annoying. There is only one pee joke and a couple of scenes where animals are shaking their butt; many are getting sick of these jokes in kids' movies, but there's not a lot of them so I would give those a pass too.

It knew when to be fast-paced and take it slow, so there wasn't always constant noise. The animators also must has aimed for their art to look very adorable, because they succeeded in making the pets look almost harmless and provide that shocking effect when they'd go from cute to downright cruel.

Besides, a story like this doesn't really need to go on longer than its runtime. It told its story and tied up the loose ends. That's all it really needs and I'm content that the writers didn't force the story to go on and leave us with too much useless filler.

Ultimately, there's not much I can say about this film. I believe it's a cute story, but again-if it had just a little more push into character development, I think it could be better. But as it is, it's still not bad. It's just not...WOW! I'd say three out of five stars.

P.S There is a Minion short before the movie begins. It was all right, just what you'd expect of Minions. Wild craziness with a hint of annoyance.

Is it just me, or did this movie have a lot of instances where it sounded like a character was going to say, "Shit"? I had a near heart attack during the scene where Tiberius called out to Gidget and said, "I'm right over here in this shed..." If they didn't show the shed, I would've sworn he said, "Shit" and I would've wondered how in the world they'd allow a curse word in a PG movie.

I kind of wanted Gidget and Tiberius together, they had more chemistry (even if it did start out with Tiberius trying to eat Gidget) than Gidget and Max. Max only noticed her after she kicked butt on the bridge, so before that he had no care for her. I mean, other animals did a lot to try to save him too, what makes Gidget special to Max now? I know, I know, he said he realized all the times she cared about him, but still...well, sounds like I support inter-species relationships.

That pig who had all the tattoos on his body...that is so cruel. They don't actually do that right?

The Ricky jokes were a little excessive, but they were all a hit. I cracked up at all of them.

I was surprised at how Duke's old owner died and even more at how they handled it. So the cat at Duke's old home says his owner died, Duke freaks out...and then what? He's soon back to his old self. Stuff like that changes you for a while, how can Duke be fully happy being with his new owner when he hasn't had time to grieve over his old one?

At first I was so confused as to why Snowball was quickly accepting of being a pet for a little girl, but then I figured he wanted to be loved all along. A bigger question would be, where are those girl's parents? She did ask her mom to get her Snowball (and his friends) as pets, but the mother is nowhere to be seen. I'm a little surprised Snowball stayed with her, the parents would've got him checked for diseases.
